Alcona Health Center (AHC) is a well-established non-profit organization and a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC) that has been serving communities across northern Michigan and the eastern Upper Peninsula since its establishment in Lincoln, MI, in 1978. They also provide same-day and next-day appointments and walk-in services at select locations. Behavioral Health Services: A team of licensed professionals (counselors, social workers, contracted psychiatrists) assists patients with mild to moderate behavioral health concerns, taking a comprehensive approach integrated with primary care. This includes individual, group, and family therapy. Dental Services: Comprehensive dental care is provided. Pharmacy Services: On-site pharmacy services are available. Recovery Services (MAT/Substance Use Disorder Treatment): AHC offers integrated Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) combined with substance use counseling, peer recovery coaching, and care management services, focusing on a holistic approach to recovery. Community Health Workers and Care Managers: These professionals provide additional one-on-one support, health education, assistance with coordinating appointments, and connections to community resources. Alcona Health Center is committed to high ethical standards and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. They accept commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid plans, and also offer an income-based sliding fee program to ensure affordability and accessibility for all. They have various locations, including a clinic in Harrisville, MI, and have expanded to include school-based health centers in collaboration with local school districts, such as the Alpena High Health Center.
