Detailed Introduction

Allentown/Bethlehem Pediatric Dental Associates is a specialized dental clinic focused on providing comprehensive oral healthcare for children and adolescents in the Allentown and Bethlehem areas of Pennsylvania. It operates as part of the broader children's dental health network, which has been providing pediatric dental care across Pennsylvania and Delaware for over 40 years. The clinic's mission is to deliver high-quality, age-appropriate dental care while partnering with parents and families to educate them on fostering a lifetime of excellent oral health. They pride themselves on creating a positive and engaging environment for young patients, often incorporating kid-friendly elements like movies and games during appointments to help alleviate dental anxiety. Their approach emphasizes prevention first, followed by intervention, demonstrating a commitment to proactive care. Services offered include preventative dentistry (cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants), restorative procedures (fillings, extractions, root canals), and early orthodontics. The team comprises board-certified pediatric dentists, such as Dr. Steven Melnic and Dr. Katherine Cushing at their Bethlehem location, who have undergone an additional two to three years of specialized training beyond dental school, focusing on child psychology, growth, and development. This specialized training also equips them to care for patients with medical, physical, and mental disabilities. Allentown/Bethlehem Pediatric Dental Associates accepts most insurances, including CHIP and Medicaid plans, aiming to improve access to care for families in Lehigh County. They offer convenient appointments and strive to make the dental visit as comfortable and educational as possible for both children and their parents, ensuring children develop healthy dental habits from a young age.

WORST DENTISTS EVER: I have taken my kids here for 12 years and at first we had a great dentist. The only problem was the dentist and their assistant. My 13 year old had a dentist assistant named kimmy. Kimmy refused to put on gloves and even have basic hygiene. She also was extremely bossy often telling my child to breathe through her nose.

The only problem with that is my child's seriously bad allergies so when she did kimmy scrunched up her nose and the muttered under her breath the a word. Also she began flirting with my husband! Also dr. david is THE WORST DENTIST POSSIBLE: he told my child she has like 25 cavities tho another dentist came took a look and said she only had one in the back of her molar he also claimed that the "cavities couldn't be treated" which is BS scince my sister works as a dentist took one look and said it could be monitored and cured. If anything SKIP THIS DENTIST THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND LAUGH AT YOU AS THEY MAKE UP LIES.

I am not one to write reviews but after today's experience I hope this will help other parents. We have been patients here for the last 7 years (we started with a different AMAZING dentist who no longer works here).

Today the dentist maybe spent 1 minute with each of my kids and barely gave me the time of day when I had a few questions and scuffed about my questions about fluoride safety or anything else.

AVOID DAVID KIM! We have been patients here for 6 or 7 years. Today we saw a different dentist for the 1st time, David Kim, AWFUL. He told me that 2 extremely small cavities in between baby teeth cannot be watched, which is a lie. He was digging his metal pic into her teeth so hard TRYINGG TO CAUSE/EXPOSE DAMAGE THAT DOESNT EXIST! Then went on to say my that my 7 year old needs treatment or she cannot be seen there anymore. Mind you my son was also seen, by another dentist there simultaneously. That dentist said my son has a small one in the back (same spot as my daughter) but it's okay we will keep an eye and see him back in 6 months.

. Well no you won't because DR KIM said you don't do that. The women of the office were confused and apologetic. But I'll be dxmnd if I let a money hungry dentist take advantage of my kid while under anesthesia. We will be finding a new dentist.
