Very disappointed with this office. I was going here for years as I really liked Dr. Marlow and every dental hygienist I’ve had. I realized after awhile that every simple cavity was recommended to fix with a crown vs. a standard filling. Which was way more expensive, and I was fine with that because I trusted I was doing the best for my teeth. Until a tooth that never was an issue before needs work. Dr. Marlow once again recommended a crown.
I get the crown done, pay the $1,000 or whatever and it never healed right. I came in multiple times to have it adjusted. One time I had the displeasure of meeting a different dentist (Dr. D something I think his name was) to adjust it, he checks the tooth, says it’s fine, then in the most condescending way ever, says: “you wouldn’t expect a sprained ankle to heal by now, would you? Why is this different?” Just so rude and dismissive. Came back a couple more times for the adjustment, Dr. Marlow tried to make it right, but the issue persisted. I eventually stop eating on that side altogether which caused other issues. I end up seeing a different dental office and to my surprise they tell me I have no crowns on any of my teeth. That was concerning for me since I definitely paid for crowns.
I called Ann Arbor Smiles and spoke with a really kind receptionist. I request a receipt to be sent to me so I can at least see what I’ve paid for. She looks at my chart and says I do have crowns, but that she wants the office manager to call me and talk about the situation. I once again feel optimistic that this could turn into a good scenario. It’s been 3 months. No receipts. No phone calls. I’m over it.

Another truly excellent experience with each of the kind and talented staff I encountered at Ann Arbor Smiles. From checking in to checking out and including the dreaded deep cleaning, I received friendly, attentive, thoughtful care. My hygienist Chelsea was so patient with me as I provided her with quite a bit of detail regarding my oral and general health, and once the cleaning began, she made sure to check in with me frequently to ensure my comfort.
She also provided me with guidance for best dental care practices at home. Chelsea made this dreaded procedure as comfortable as possible for me not only with her clearly outstanding skills as a hygienist but with her calm and approachable demeanor. A sincere thank you to everyone at Ann Arbor Smiles for another positive experience!

I had my first appointment with this practice today- their standard two hour new patient appointment. I am immunocompromised, and it can be difficult to find dental practices who are willing or able to accommodate those problems. Before my appointment, I informed them of this and only asked if it was possible for masks to be worn during my visit. While I was there, my hygienist told me they also always have filters running in their rooms, and went out of her way to remind the doctor and other hygienists to wear masks when in the room with me.
I cannot stress how kind and considerate everyone was throughout the process, and how much it meant to me to have them to go to such trouble without me having to ask. They also went out of their way to make sure they were communicating with me effectively and conscientiously, which was in accordance with another note I had made in my initial forms. The process for booking follow-up appointments was painless, and I feel significantly less anxiety about my teeth and my dental situation going forward. I understand that many or most patients do not have the same concerns as I do, but a practice that cares this much about patient health, safety, and comfort when it is difficult to do so is one I would feel very confident trusting to do so in general circumstances.
I cannot recommend them enough, especially to immunocompromised or anxious patients.

I needed to confirm I needed a root canal, so upon talking to my daughter she recommended I try Smiles where her family goes. My dentist had tried to perform one but was unsuccessful. He referred me to someone else for a second opinion. Upon reading his reviews I did not feel comfortable so I contacted smiles. They got me in the same day. It was determined through x-rays that I did not need a root canal and other options were given. Dr.
Ault Was extremely knowledgeable and saved me from an unnecessary procedure. Options were given. He filled the hole that my dentist had created. Needless to say I have become a patient of Smile's. I loved the atmosphere. Everyone was so polite and friendly.
