Detailed Introduction

Aspen Dental is a prominent American dental support organization (DSO) that provides comprehensive business, administrative, and marketing support services to a vast network of independently owned and operated dental practices across the United States. The Grandville, MI location is one such practice, benefiting from this centralized support while maintaining local clinical autonomy. Founded in 1998, Aspen Dental's mission is to break down barriers to dental care, aiming to serve individuals who may not have a regular dental provider or face financial obstacles. Their business model, known as the Dental Service Organization (DSO) model, allows dentists to focus on patient care by alleviating the administrative burdens of running a private practice, such as marketing, staffing, billing, and insurance negotiations. This structure enables the clinics to offer consistent care and leverage collective resources. Aspen Dental clinics, including the Grandville, MI office, offer a wide array of dental services. These typically include general dentistry (check-ups, cleanings, fillings), restorative dentistry (crowns, bridges, root canals), cosmetic dentistry (teeth whitening, veneers, clear aligners like Motto®), dentures (full, partial, and implant-supported), dental implants, and oral surgery (extractions, wisdom teeth removal). They often emphasize accessibility by offering same-day appointments, walk-ins for emergencies, and various financing options, including an "Aspen Dental Savings Plan" and partnerships with most insurance providers (though they generally do not accept Medicaid). A key aspect of Aspen Dental's approach is its commitment to transparency, providing detailed written estimates for treatment plans. They also have community initiatives like the "Healthy Mouth Movement," which offers free dental care to U.S. veterans. While the model focuses on empowering dentists with business support, patient reviews indicate mixed experiences, with some praising the friendly staff and convenience, while others express concerns about pricing, upselling, or perceived impersonal service. Nonetheless, Aspen Dental remains a significant player in the dental industry, expanding access to care across numerous communities.

While all the staff were very nice, it just felt extremely rushed. Like upper management expected them to get as many people seen as they could in a day. My appointment was 7:15 am, mind you they open at 7am, and already was running behind according to staff. No blame on them, I know it's upper management.

Top of the food chain. So, like I said ALL staff were extremely kind and knowledgeable. I just don't feel it is a place I want to call routine.

Fantastic team! Had to come in to get a filling for a tooth that was worrying. They were very friendly and notified that I had to do the prerequisite examination before getting any filling which is understandable. But the whole time they were doing it they helped discuss my concerns and gave me tips, directing me to things I could get like ultrasonic cleaning equipment for my night guard.

This personally showed they were genuinely interested in helping. Furthermore, they had an opening for my filling due to a cancellation and let me know as soon as possible, telling me how long it would take and asking if I would still like to due to some time constraints with work; instead of doing that when I approved and surprising me with a bill later, they first showed me how much it would cost before any billing just in case which personally shows integrity and is something I haven’t had happen before now. When getting my filling, the dental duo that were working on me moved seemingly without error, and grinding down my teeth a minimal amount to get the filling in; highly professional and finished the filling without wasting any time.

With that too, the receptionist completed the paperwork while I was getting worked on so I could be out the door and at my job without missing another second. They are probably the best dental care team I have ever had the joy of interacting with.

If I could give zero, I would. I had X-rays sent from my previous dentist because they moved out of network. They refused to take them. So okay, I do their X-rays. I was willingly to eat the cost. They then schedule my cleaning for 10 months in the future. But they sure did try to sell their night guard to me for $2000.

I find a new dentist that could get me in sooner. I call them to have my X-rays sent over to them. She sends the form, never sends the X-rays. Just avoid this place at all possible. They will advertise “taking new patients” but you won’t be able to get in for a cleaning for almost a year.

This place is a sales office masquerading as a dentist's office! Their corporate franchise model is nothing but a money mill. Everyone from the call center appointment person to the local scheduler is prepping and profiling you for max $$$ treatments! Why is the local scheduler telling me that my first visit will NOT be a cleaning? Oh no. It will be a 'consultation' to set up a treatment plan and payment arrangements! Payment for what? I haven't even seen the dentist yet. Run. Run.

Run! Go to a non-corporate dental office. You've been warned! The auto-bot reply below is all you need to know. Thank you, robot reply. Now, I feel reassured about visiting your $$$ assembly line. Not!
