He further pursued a Master of Science degree in Anatomy/Histology at the University of Pittsburgh while practicing general dentistry with his father. Dr. Bamonte completed a rigorous four-year hospital surgical residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals of Virginia Commonwealth University, receiving his certificate in 1989. In 1992, he achieved board certification as a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Beyond his private practice, Dr. Bamonte also holds a teaching appointment with the oral and maxillofacial surgical residency program at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
