I have never experienced anything like this - at BCC Smiles every single person is very helpful, goes above and beyond, makes me feel like I'm the most important patient. Great quality dental work, great chair-side manners, and 100% support of the front desk staff from scheduling to dealing with insurance and accommodating payments. Cannot recommend enough.

#WeToo World

Meeting the most belligerent and ignorant person Stephanya – the Office Manager, she tried to humiliate me In front of her subordinate. She acted very short and rude towards me while her subordinate was laughing, she acted very unprofessional [basically acting as a clown]. I am a disabled person with many challenges- suffering from a head injury and walking issues, I take metro access. I first contacted BCC Smiles on December 16, 2024 and scheduled an appointment for January 8, 2025 at 11:00 am. I gave the receptionist my insurance information before I terminated the call and at no time I was informed that my insurance was not acceptable for BCC Smiles. I called to confirm the appointment on January 7, 2025 1:06 pm, 4:38 pm and then I called again and left a message at 7:20 pm. I did not receive a return phone call.

I called the next day which was my appointment date at 9:03 am and discovered my appointment was cancelled. However, I expressed to her I did not appreciate how my appointment was cancelled when I confirmed it. We tried it again but I did not know she was a revengeful and would retaliate against me; we scheduled an appointment time for February 4, 2025. She kept maliciously send me emails which I did not authorize any impermissible disclosure by text or email under HIPPA. Since she was so adamant of confirmation, I did confirm about 4 times. I sent my insurance card and drivers license as requested on January 24, 2024 she never called to inform me that my insurance was not accepted. I arrived to my appointment on February 4, 2025 and it was cancelled by the office manager, at no time she did not attempt to make a phone call.

She claims that my appointment was cancelled due to insurance but never asked if I could afford dental services paying out of pocket, she assumed because of my classification that I can't afford out of pocket dental services. I believe she knew that my insurance was not accepted from the beginning, she only found a way to retaliate. I filed a complaint with the US Department of Health and Human services for an investigation and HIPPA violation. I will be informing my social media members about my experience at BCC smiles.

Dr. Lakhani and her team have been my dental heroes for years! I’ve been a patient at BCC SMILES since I was a teenager. My regular cleanings are a breeze, and they’re always on top of preventive care. During my most recent visit, Dr. Lakhani found some cavities that needed fixing and others that were at risk. She’s super careful and trustworthy in her diagnoses. The IA technology and photos she used to explain my dental needs made me feel totally at ease.

She even mentioned that I needed a minor surgical procedure called frenectomy, which involves removing a tissue that causes speech issues because of my tongue’s limited movement. She took super detailed photos and explained the procedure in great detail. She patiently answered all my questions and showed me how much she knows. I was a bit nervous about the surgery, but Dr. Lakhani’s gentle and calming technique for the injections was super soothing. I didn’t even feel a thing when the anesthesia took effect. She used a laser for the frenectomy and gave me all the post-operative instructions and exercises I needed.

The recovery and healing process were quick and painless. For the cavity repairs, she matched my tooth color perfectly, so the results were flawless. Even though I moved out of state, I still make regular dental visits. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, and they’re always ready to answer any questions. After any procedure, they follow up to make sure I’m doing great. Overall, BCC SMILES is a top-notch dental practice.
