They canceled the appointment we scheduled for our daughter 9 months ago and did not send any sort of notification about the cancellation. Why was the appt canceled? Because I submitted the new patient registration forms on 5/1 instead of 4/30 (the appointment was for 5/14). What a wonderfully thoughtful and flexible policy for a PEDIATRIC dentist office to have! I was gaslighted by the unhelpful office manager who offered to reschedule our appointment for January 2026. When I expressed my frustration after being gaslighted, the office manager then hung up on me.

I am so thrilled to have rearranged my work schedule/canceled patient visits to NOT take my child to a dental visit that was canceled (and that they never notified me was canceled)!! Glad to have found a different practice that actually values patients, their care, and the fact that strained parents are taking time away from work to meet the needs of their children. This place doesn't deserve our business.

My son is 7 and has been diagnosed with ADHD. He also has had a horrible gag reflex since he was about 2. 5. This was all discussed at his consultation and the dentist, Dr. Carlin, seemed confident.

At the next procedure to fill a tooth that had faulty enamel, my son vomited and struggled with the large "pillow" they call it that takes up the child's whole mouth. I realize this can be frustrating for staff, however I did not like the scolding tone the dentist took with my son for the whole appointment. ADHD kids have trouble listening on a good day. When they are gassed and stressed and choking, he was in panic mode. My son was crying and he never wants to go back to the dentist now.

The procedure was painful to watch and go through with my son, and the dentist just was annoyed and unempathetic. The assistants were more caring and patient with him. It's not like he was deliberately trying to make their day hell! I thought this practice was supposed to be amazing with kids? We'll never go back.

My daughter just got her braces off and we couldn’t be happier with the results. From the kind staff that greeted us at every appointment to Dr. Dunlavey’s attention to detail the whole experience was great. I would definitely recommend using Dr. Dunlavey!
