Detailed Introduction

Beavercreek Dental Care, also identified as The TMJ Treatment Center, is a highly specialized dental clinic located at 2141 N Fairfield Rd suite a, Beavercreek, OH 45431. With over 30 years of experience, this center focuses specifically on the diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ/TMD) and other craniofacial pain conditions. The clinic prides itself on offering advanced and evidence-based treatments, incorporating state-of-the-art technology such as digital imaging and electronic records for accurate diagnosis. Their team includes highly qualified professionals, such as Dr. Priyanka Monga, who is board-certified by the American Board of Orofacial Pain and has extensive residency training in orofacial pain, including TMD, headache disorders, and neuropathic pain. The clinic also highlights the expertise of Dr. Mitakides, a nationally recognized expert in craniofacial pain and TMJ disorder, who is a Fellow of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain. Services provided at The TMJ Treatment Center are comprehensive and tailored to individual patient needs. They begin with an in-depth history and thorough examination, often including special X-rays and/or tomographic imaging, a complete medical history review, and a careful physical examination of the jaw, head, and neck area. They may also create models of teeth to understand biting and chewing patterns. Treatment options focus on conservative therapies whenever possible and can include: Stage One treatments: Aiming to eliminate pain, stabilize jaw position, and normalize muscle activity. This often involves at-home care such as alternating heat and ice therapy, dietary modifications (e.g., soft diet), and adjustments to sleep position and daily habits (e.g., conscious awareness of jaw position, avoiding gum chewing). Stage Two treatments: Focusing on adjusting the bite, correcting bite problems, and orthodontics if necessary. Oral Appliances/Splints: Custom-fitted appliances are a cornerstone of their treatment, designed to relax muscles, reduce compression on jaw joints, and correct misalignments. Physical Therapies and Exercises: Patients are taught exercises and receive recommendations for muscle massages to relieve pain and correct muscle problems. Medication: Prescriptions for pain relievers, anti-inflammatory drugs, anti-depressants, and muscle relaxants may be part of the treatment plan. Botox Treatment: Offered as an efficient and effective non-surgical option to reduce muscle movement causing severe headaches and pain from TMJ. Surgery: While rarely recommended by their team, surgery is considered in severe cases where muscle spasms have persisted, joints are injured or arthritic, or bones and soft tissues are misaligned due to injury. The clinic emphasizes a patient-centered approach, working to identify individual symptoms and triggers to help patients manage their condition and improve their quality of life. They welcome new patients, including referrals from other doctors, and accept most dental insurances, with TMJ care often covered by medical insurance.

Dr Monga is very nice and helps me with reliving my jaw pain, and explains the process thoroughly. My dental assistant is Doris and she is very kind and helpful as well.

Called the office today as a new pt referral and was SHOCKED at the lack of customer care/concern. The manager there was completely unwilling to work with our schedule and the way she treated me would've made me leery to even want to deal with this practice. I cannot speak for the Drs since we never even made it that far but office staff can make or break your experience and I would avoid this office at all costs.

If that is how the leadership of the office acts towards a patient, I hate to see the rest of the staff working under her.
