Detailed Introduction

The Beloit Area Community Health Center is a vital healthcare facility located at 74 Eclipse Blvd, Beloit, WI 53511. It operates as a federally qualified health center (FQHC) under the umbrella of Community Health Systems of Wisconsin (CHS). This designation means it adheres to federal guidelines to provide comprehensive primary healthcare services, particularly to underserved populations in urban and rural communities. Beloit Area Community Health Center offers a wide range of services designed to address the holistic health needs of its patients. These include primary medical care, dental care, and behavioral health services (including mental health and chiropractic care). They cater to individuals and families of all ages and backgrounds, with a strong commitment to accessibility. This commitment is evident in their acceptance of various insurance plans, including private insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid. Furthermore, they provide a generous sliding-fee schedule for those with high deductible health plans or no insurance, based on household income and family size, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent access to necessary care. The clinic is staffed by a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, dentists, family nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social workers, nurses, and support staff. They are equipped to handle a variety of health concerns, from routine well-child exams, school, and sports physicals to managing chronic illnesses, providing family planning, and offering confidential STD/HIV testing. They also provide comprehensive care for HIV-positive individuals through collaboration with UW-Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics. For patient convenience, they offer MyChart access for secure communication, appointment management, and viewing test results. Community Health Systems of Wisconsin, established in 1999, oversees several clinics in Southern Wisconsin, including two in Beloit and one in Darlington. Their mission is to provide community-oriented health and social services in a culturally competent and confidential manner, promoting comfort, healing, and illness prevention. As an FQHC, the Beloit Area Community Health Center is also eligible for various benefits, such as participation in the Federal Tort Claims Act, drug pricing discounts, and federal loan guarantees for capital improvements, which further enable them to expand and enhance their services to the community.

I'm updating my review. My previous experience here from 2019 was horrible compared to the service I experienced this time around. There is new staff, and everyone seems much nicer all around. They were very helpful and informative. Setting up an initial appointment might still be a challenge due to waitlists, but I have several family members who recommend this dentistry location. After today, I recommend it, too.

They take medicaid. They also have a sliding scale fee for non-insured. They have updated tech, and the facility is clean and quiet. The staff was friendly and efficient and took time to explain things to me for "next steps. "

My doctors and therapists actually listen to me here. After many bad experiences with other doctors and facilities I am a very apprehensive person about going to any doctor. However, these doctors gave me my life back, they not only listen but understand my point of view and validate my feelings.

I was clearly explained the best course of treatment for my issues and seen and handled with genuine care. Thank you!

They referred me to Madison, when I went there the dentist told me they don’t do oral surgery and that this Beloit clinic is referring people to the wrong place. When i called to ask about it they hung up the phone on me! DONT TRUST REFERRALS FROM THIS CLINIC THEY ARE LIARS!!!

If i could give a zero they don't even deserve that. I have been in knee brace since December. My fantastic doctor had sent me for MRI in February and I called to schedule appointment with her to read and they tell me she is no longer there when I saw her 5 days earlier. The only appointment they would give was a 1st patient visit with man (as a female I am NOT ok with male primary doctor. ). They then tell me that I cannot see a female doctor until end of June, another 4 months away so that puts me in knee brace for 6 months without someone telling me what is wrong as indicated by MRI results they have had but wont read.

You cannot get appointments here and they clearly DO NOT CARE about their patients. To make someone wait that long is simply inhumane. DO NOT GO HERE. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATIENTS AT ALL!!! Making a patient wait 4 months to learn what their MRI results mean and being stuck in knee ee brace to be able to walk is unacceptable .
