I provide insurance for one of their patients who doesn't live with me. I was contacted via text message by the office manager regarding an insurance claim, and she asked for my social security number to be texted to her. When I called to attempt to resolve the matter, she was unresponsive to my concerns (stated numerous times) about delivering my full social security number in that manner.
I ultimately attained the information she wanted so the patient's claim could be submitted, but I'm appalled by her unwillingness (and actual irateness) to recognize my need to protect my privacy.

UPDATE 2: I was know sent a collection letter regardless of numerous attempts to resolve the billing issue with the office. I was a member of their in-office plan until August of 2024. The office still choose to bill my dental insurance (a crappy policy I had in place for emergencies with a high deductible) rather than use the in-office membership that I has been paying for for nearly a year for my exam and cleaning. We’ve also repeatedly asked for a secure, online link to pay our bill as we don’t feel comfortable calling and giving our card. The office does not offer this. I either have to call them during a time when they are open and give my card info in a non-secure method or go to the bank and get a cashier’s check (we don’t even have checkbooks anymore because everything can be paid online or via bank transfer). I will be filing a complaint with the state dental board. I’m terribly disappointed because Dr. Beussink IS a great dentist but her billing team is one of the worst I’ve seen and I work in the industry.
UPDATED REVIEW: Unfortunately, we had a very negative experience with insurance and billing after I wrote this review. My husband needed treatment and the office NEVER reviewed coverage levels and financial obligation. He said he asked and they just said, "Oh, we're sending it to your insurance. " Fast forward and a couple of months later, we're receiving a bill for $1200 because insurance didn't cover the procedures due to the out of network status and other factors. They also sent him home with a toothbrush we didn't need (we have sonicare, oral b, and quips already) and told him it was "included'. I also had a smaller billing issue of my own with zero responses to my email inquiry. Last but not least, the office doesn't offer any type of secure payment options via an online portal or text to pay. To settle this $1200 bill, we have to call and pay over the phone (not comfortable with that), stop by the office during their business hours, or send a check (can't even remember the last time I had to pay a bill via check). Dr.
Beussink is a great dentist but the rest of the experience in the office is forcing us to choose another provider. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've worked in the dental field for over 20 years and Beussink family dentistry is excellent. I had my first visit today and everything aligned with the highest standard of care and customer service. I feel fortunate to have found such a great dental office close to home! To the one star review for not wanting to provide your social: It's REQUIRED by the insurance company. If you want your visit to be covered, you need to provide it. If you have an issue with that, you need to take it up with your insurance company. I generally coach our clients to respond like this when a patient refuses to provide their social: "I understand your concern but your insurance company requires this for payment. If you are not comfortable providing this information, you can pay for your visit in full at the time of service and your insurance will reimburse you directly" because without it - your insurance will not pay for procedures.
