The clinic is committed to providing exceptional and comprehensive dental care in a warm, friendly, and child-centered environment. Their primary focus is on ensuring the oral health and well-being of children while making dental visits enjoyable and stress-free. The team at Cascades Pediatric Dentistry includes experienced pediatric dental professionals, such as Dr. Tatiana Staver and Dr. Heidi Herbst. Dr. Staver, a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, comes from a family of dentists and is fluent in Romanian, Russian, English, and has intermediate Spanish skills. Dr. Herbst, with extensive experience since 1981, has also served as adjunct faculty at VCU School of Dentistry. Cascades Pediatric Dentistry offers a wide range of services tailored specifically for children, from infants to adolescents. These services include: Preventative Dentistry: Routine dental cleanings, oral health exams, fluoride treatments, and dental sealants to prevent decay. They emphasize educating families on proper oral hygiene habits. Restorative Dentistry: Treatment for cavities and fillings (using tooth-colored cement), veneers, caps, and options for missing teeth, including implants and crowns. Minimally Invasive Dentistry: Utilizing advanced techniques like microscopic dentistry to preserve as much of the natural tooth as possible. Sedation Dentistry: Options to ensure comfortable and anxiety-free visits for children who may need it. Silver Diamine Fluoride: A treatment option for certain dental conditions. Hospital Dentistry: For children with complex medical conditions, extensive procedures, or significant anxiety. Emergency Dental Care: They also offer urgent care for dental emergencies. The clinic's philosophy centers on building positive relationships with children from an early age, ideally around their first birthday. They aim to foster a "dental home" where children feel comfortable and empowered in their oral health journey. They are known for their patient-centered approach, offering personalized treatment plans, open communication with parents and children, and a commitment to using safe materials and techniques. Patient reviews frequently highlight the kind, gentle, and professional nature of the staff and dentists, the child-friendly atmosphere, and the efforts made to alleviate fear and anxiety. They strive to instill positive dental habits that last a lifetime.

Dr. Staver and her team are phenomenal. We needed this visit for "sugar-bugs", which can be very intimidating for the parent and child. (Exhale!) They took the utmost care of my young men with patience and compassion. This was my first time at the new location and it was certainly a memorable one. The aura in her new space is so warm, inviting, and ZEN to the 10th power.

I could not have asked for a better experience for my boys! I don't think the dental office is the ideal hangout spot but my babes are excited for their next visit!!! . . . . . Thanks Again!!!!

I took my 2 year old to her very first dental visit and she did so good. She was treated with so much care and respect. I loved it and recommend it to anyone with little ones. I was scared for nothing, they made it an amazing visit. Looking forward to going back in a few months

This was my final visit to this dental office, and I’m honestly still extremely unsettled by the experience. I’ve been coming here for a while, especially after my previous dentist closed and I was referred here. Up until now, most of my interactions had been fine. During this visit, the receptionist and dental assistant were both kind and professional — unfortunately, that completely changed when Dr. Tatiana Staver entered the room. As soon as she walked in, she immediately began loudly and repeatedly saying that I “have herpes” — directly to my face and in front of others nearby. This was not only medically inaccurate (I had a cold sore due to an illness I’ve been recovering from), but it was also humiliating, inappropriate, and deeply unprofessional.

She hovered over me while I was lying back in the chair, continuing to repeat it multiple times, making me feel embarrassed, shamed, and completely exposed. Things only got worse from there. While working on my teeth, she was extremely rough and showed no regard for my comfort or consent. She forcefully grabbed and restrained my head multiple times, putting painful pressure on my jaw so I couldn’t move. She didn’t explain what she was doing at any point, and her overall demeanor was aggressive and demeaning. At one point, she even asked me if I “even brush or floss,” which was incredibly insulting — I brush and floss twice a day, every day. She later claimed there was glue left on my teeth from braces, which I know isn’t true.

The way she handled my mouth and jaw caused me genuine physical discomfort, and the whole experience left me feeling disrespected, judged, and completely violated. I’ve never written a review like this before, but I feel it’s necessary. No patient — especially a young one — should be treated this way by a medical professional. I will absolutely not be returning to this office, and I hope steps are taken to ensure no one else is treated like this in the future.

I am always so impressed by the doctors and staff at Cascades Pediatric Dentistry. They always go above and beyond to make sure my children feel heard and are comfortable. Even if that means changing the video to home alone in the middle of spring :)
