As a chronic pain sufferer, I underwent Homeoblock treatments for TMJ dysfunction - what is for most a poorly understood pain syndrome. Upon getting fitted for the device, the results were immediate and profound. Homeoblock treatment represented for me a paradigm shift in my understanding of the body's complex integration. This is not simply an oral "splint", it is a functional, neurological device that bridges an important gap between the brain, the vestibular system, and the coordination of every one of the 600+ muscles in my body.

If you’re looking for TMJ treatment from a talented, friendly, and conscientious professional you can trust, Dr. Caughey is an excellent choice. One pleasant surprise you’ll find is that Dr. Caughey is also a great teacher and values educating the patient. She uses different kinds of models, drawings, pictures, and explanations to help you better understand the treatment and progress.

I sought Dr. Caughey because I was having multiple problems that required a holistic approach. She is trained not only in dentistry, but has extensive knowledge in head and neck issues. I had back and neck issues not knowing an overbite was the culprit for the pain. I also had TMJ and sleep apnea. I chose to use the Integrative Postural Therapy service she offers in conjunction with physical therapist Mike Cantrell.

Dr. Caughey took care of my bite and other issues while Mike gave me exercises to do that relieved my back and neck pain. I started with an ALF device which expanded my palate and prepared me for orthodontia. This helped my back and neck issues. I then transitioned into braces which corrected my bite. The entire process was a game changer for me! I can now function again in daily life and no longer have pain when I lift my grandchildren or perform housework.

Had I sought out just physical therapy I doubt I would have ever known the issue was not just a back and neck problem but something much more. I highly recommend Dr. Caughey if you are experiencing difficulty in daily life because of back or pain issues.
