Everyone did amazing; front desk, anesthesiologist, dentist, etc. , even the lady who did the exit vitals. All made us feel welcome & comfortable. Everything was explained thoroughly & all questions were answered. Great job.

The staff was prompt, professional and friendly. I was very nervous for my grand baby to be put to sleep but they did everything to ease my fears. Thank you so much from a concerned grammie 👍🏽

This review is in no way reflective of Centers For Pediatric Dental Sedation's actual dental work, but, in fact, a review on their ethical practices and lack of treatment explanation. They travel once a week to the Calhoun office, and that is where we came in for treatment. We had a referral from our dentist to have fillings completed because our son did not want to cooperate at his office. We came into the initial consultation thinking he would have fillings applied to the surface of his teeth. The dentist took about 5 minutes to review the x-rays and assure us with a big grin that everything would be ok and that he would in no time have my kid with a beautiful smile. At no point did he ever explain what a crown was or why exactly did my son need a crown. Our dentist referred us for fillings nothing else. On the day of, the staff was in an extreme rush to get set up, considering they shuttle into Calhoun and once again failed MISERABLY at explaining what was about to happen. They all hurried, had us sign paperwork and rushed my son to the back.
My first shock was that he was given a shot right on his arm, instead of being placed on gas as I've seen many times during my surgeries. The second shock came in 5 minutes later when a young girl came in and told us not to freak out if he became stiff and rigid, it was at that point that I subconsciously began to realize these idiots had not spent one second to explain what was about to happen. Still, my dumb and ignorant self allowed everything to continue without asking a single question as to why they hadn't been more thorough with their explanations, yet the worst unexplained fact left out from everything was a detailed explanation of what a crown was. I've called my dentist and asked if he indeed thought my son's teeth were so bad that he needed crowns and said no, we referred you for treatment. We would have done fillings here if he had cooperated. But strap in the worst part was at the end. First the shock of finding out the worst possible way what a crown was, seeing my child's' entire upper gum bruised and purple. Then the same girl comes in to explain that he might wake up screaming or fighting. I've had a hundred questions for a week, and I have not been able to even sleep over the frustration and helplessness.
This practice in my view either took advantage of the fact that treatment would be covered by insurance to upgrade unnecessary treatment on my child and failed MISERABLY at explaining thoroughly up front what exactly would happen. They know exactly what they are doing because at the end when my son began to scream in pain, they rushed us out the back door so none of the other oblivious parents would see. I wish I could at least get an apology from them, at the very least but I also wish every parent would find my review and understand how much they care for a thorough explanation. Ask ask ask questions, and if you don't agree with their treatment, please go somewhere else for another consult. There might be kids with teeth so rotten they do require crowns and this practice might be a miracle to them to us it was the worst that has ever happened in my life, and I've had kidney stones. Watching my son scream for hours was far more painful.

Our little guy needed sedation to have some dental work done. He was in such good hands. Everyone was wonderful and even though we hated he had to be sedated we had a great experience and it was a relief to know that he didn't experience any pain during the procedure!
