My son went to this office on his own—he’s a young adult and still learning how to navigate medical systems. He’s on Medicaid (Apple Health), and this provider accepts Medicaid. But unfortunately, they had him sign a form that waived his coverage protections without clearly explaining what it meant. By law (WAC 182-502-0160), any provider who accepts Medicaid is required to take the state’s payment as payment in full for covered services. They’re not supposed to bill patients extra. But if you sign something agreeing to private pay—even if you don’t fully understand it—they can charge you. That’s exactly what happened. He was later billed, and it caught us off guard.

We’re sharing this so other families and young adults know: 📌 Don’t sign anything until you ask, “Is this service covered by Medicaid?” 📌 If they say no, ask for it in writing and consider your options before agreeing. 📌 If you’re unsure, call your Medicaid plan before the appointment. Our young adults need clarity, not confusion. Providers have a responsibility to explain billing—not hide it behind paperwork. We expected better. We continue to believe this organization serves a good purpose and this probably won't be turned into collections. However - we are looking for proof that something was signed and will be on our guard now. Edit: Follow up - we got the paperwork in the mail that he signed.

It is we -think- signed in the front desk when they tell you that you are signing something to bill insurance. They leave out how they are getting around Medcaid. In their defense - chas doesnt send bills to collections, but I am pretty sure other providers do this too. Be careful what you sign. You are signing away your rights to not be billed when you are on Medcaid.

As reading a review posted less than 5 days ago, I felt the need to share my experience with this particular dental location as well. The front desk was NOT as professional as they should be, talking about/to patients OVER the waiting room as well as scheduling appointments before asking the client( with the patient in front of me and then she scheduled me just hoping it'd work out, telling me she can cancel it if needed, it was for a cleaning) I wasn't there for a cleaning, I was there, as charted, for wisdom tooth pain. The dentist Shiva didn't even spend a full 7 minutes with me, and didn't bother telling me his findings but just said the assistant will talk with me about it. I was told I had 9 cavities and he'll propose the treatment plan.

As SOON as he left, a staff member recommended a second opinion appointment at ANOTHER location. With that opinion, that dentist was confused and I only had 3 cavities sited, a few being on a preventative case. Not only did this cause me emotional distress and MISTRUST, but with a recommendation to look elsewhere, and the lack of communication and connection with the patient, this place is something I wish I could put as a warning. The treatment plan the dentist tried to propose for the "nine" cavities, was a plan of TEN follow up appointments.

I don't recommend this place and specifically not Shiva Seyyadri DDS. Two stars ONLY because you hired good dental assistants that I experienced.

Waited over an hour and a half to be seen for a 20 minute exam that was rushed. The staff did not know how to take xrays and the facility was very dirty. I heard the front staff break hippa repeatedly, as well as; the front staff making incorrect statements to patient's about their insurance causing major confusion. I clarified what would be charged to my insurance and one of the services were not rendered by the end of appointment, but was billed to insurance.

Upon calling in to dispute this, they give the run around. I saw a few people come in who were immediately told their insurance wasn't going to pay for services yet due to being scheduled by office before being allowed by insurance. These patients were very confused about why they were scheuleded then and were canceled or were forced to pay out of pocket. The staff were not knowledgeable on insurances or wait times, and no one could answer billing/coding questions accurately.

I witnessed a few people escalate over false billing codes being billed to insurance, and their concerns were met with lies or " i don't know. " I would get a second opinion on any services rendered here! My treatment plan changed significantly upon seeking a secpnd opinion at a different dental practice 🚩🚩🚩
