Detailed Introduction

Children's Center for Dentistry, located at 314 Susan Dr, Normal, IL 61761, is a dedicated pediatric dental clinic specializing in the oral health of children from infancy through adolescence (ages 0-18). The practice is headed by Dr. Gregory M. Dietz, a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. Dr. Dietz, a native of central Illinois, earned his DMD from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine and completed his pediatric dentistry residency at the University of Iowa. He achieved the distinction of Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 2014, signifying the highest level of certification in his field. The clinic emphasizes creating a positive and comfortable experience for children, with an office environment designed to be welcoming and fun, featuring calming color schemes and kid-friendly play areas. Their team, including Dr. Renee Dietz, hygienists, assistants, and front desk staff, are all experienced in working with children and addressing dental anxieties. Services offered at Children's Center for Dentistry are comprehensive and tailored to the unique needs of growing children. These include: Preventive Care: Regular examinations, cleanings, fluoride varnishes, and dental sealants to prevent cavities and monitor development. Restorative Care: Fillings, crowns, extractions, space maintainers, and pulpotomies for treating existing dental issues. Emergency Dental Care: Same-day appointments for urgent situations such as broken teeth, pain, abscesses, or injuries to lips and gums. They also offer on-call doctors for established patients outside of regular hours. Sedation Dentistry: A range of options for anxious or special needs children, including nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, in-office deep sedation, and out-patient general anesthesia at a local surgery center (The Center for Outpatient Medicine - TCOM). Tongue Tie / Lip Tie Procedures. First Dental Visit Guidance: Emphasis on early preventive care, often recommending the first visit by the eruption of the first tooth or by the first birthday, and providing parent education on oral hygiene habits, diet, pacifier use, and thumb sucking. The clinic focuses on continuity of care to build trust and comfort with young patients. While parents are welcome, for older children, they often find that allowing them to attend appointments independently can foster a better overall experience.

Was referred to Dr. Dietz due to the fact my daughter needed a cavity filled and would need to be sedated. We visited the office in September there was no x-rays done it was about a seven minute visit where Dr. Dietz immediately stated that she needed two crowns. We left the office making an appointment which the soonest would be January we had to pay 225 I believe to make the appointment. We made it to our appointment in January and we were informed that the procedure didn’t go as followed and general anesthesia would be the next best thing. 500 non refundable fee was required. I was also I informed by numerous previous patients to watch out for the surprise procedures they would do while under anesthesia and later get significantly billed for as they feel happend to them.

SO we were getting our daughters physicals completed That was something that needed to be done before surgery that being said my physician contacted Dr. Dietz office Inquiring about the fax number. So as I was leaving the The physicians office I was given a flabbergasting message which I felt was extremely unprofessional on behalf of the dentist office I could tell my physician wasn’t comfortable giving me the message and thought it was very odd however she said when I contacted them for the fax number they had asked if you would please return their phone call that they had been trying to contact you your daughter’s surgery date had to get rescheduled and they also released confidential information on behalf of our payments . I don’t think that was a very good reflection on how Dr. Dietz’s office handles things and unfortunately the receptionist the nurses the people in the waiting area at the physicians office had to witness that it was very embarrassing on so many levels. We had had no phone calls, voice mails nor from my husbands phone. So I immediately can’t to Dr. Dietz‘s office and I spoke with the office manager and she said that she was going to reach out to me later on I never heard back from her so I contacted later on the next day and she said that she spoke to Dr.

Dietz about the situation and that they feel that it is better that we see dental treatment elsewhere for our child perhaps they didn’t take into consideration my daughter has been dentally neglected due to the fact we were under the impression we were going to be taken care of here. Now we’re At square one. I felt no empathy from them after what they had created for me to be angry after the Confidentiality contract was obviously breached that being said there was no apology on their behalf whatsoever however I strongly believe believe we were victims of dental fraud. I did seek a numerous amount of opinions from the public including several dental hygensit and the strongly urged me to get second opinions especially after the book has been thrown at us with dental work from this office and we had been seen at dentist regularly and none of the things that dr Dietz was telling us we needed some were ever brought to our attention from our former dentist. So seek another opinion. I’m definitely going to be looking into the fraudulent activities this office has portrayed to our family. I hope this does not happen to anyone else. Also Kristen management very rude, irrational, abrasive, argumentative, I strongly urge she seeks customer service 101- She can’t take take any accountability for faults, and it’s absolutely rude!!

⚠️⚠️⚠️we love doctor Dietz it's so sad that I have to write this it is not a reflection on him as a dentist. we have been taking our kid to him since he opened . I was surprised when we got a letter from his office saying he would not be accepting them becuase we live out of county . He has know that we have lived out of county for years and he has always been okay with it.

It's sad that children who have medicaid are turn down when they have been his patients for years specially when they have special needs . we make the 1 hrs drive to him (each way)because he is great with children and is very caring ,unfortunately his staff sometimes don't reflect his kind personality . It is also sad that they have left me with no choice at last minute it is impossible to find a pediatric dentist that will accept medicaid in any area and it's sad that we have been pretty much left with no dentist

Amazing staff! So wonderful with my newborn who had tongue and lip surgery at only a week old. I liked Dr. Dietz so much, that I will continue to use him for our son even though my daughter sees a different dentist. He is absolutely wonderful with children. I highly recommend Dr. Dietz!!

We have always been treated like family. The girls genuinely look forward to going to the dentist and my youngest insisted we go show Dr Dietz when she lost a tooth. We have had cavities and they have been amazing and easy. We also began orthodontic treatment with him and he realized it was going to be a more difficult treatment plan than he originally thought and referred us to a strict orthodontist, and refunded all the money we had already paid for treatment thus far.

I can not speak highly enough of Dr. Dietz and his staff. Love love love them.
