Detailed Introduction

The Children's Dental Sedation Center of Atlanta is a specialized dental practice dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate dental care for children, with a particular focus on utilizing sedation techniques to ensure comfort and minimize anxiety. Located at 1150 Lake Hearn Dr NE #170, Atlanta, GA 30342, they serve families throughout Atlanta and surrounding communities. Their core mission revolves around creating a positive and safe dental experience for young patients, especially those who may be fearful of dental procedures, have special healthcare needs, or require extensive treatment that is challenging to complete in a traditional dental setting. They aim to break down barriers to dental care by offering a comfortable environment where children can receive necessary treatments without the trauma or fear often associated with dental visits. The center offers various levels of sedation, tailored to each child's individual needs and the complexity of the dental work. These options typically include: Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas): A mild sedative administered through a mask, helping children relax while remaining awake and responsive. Oral Sedation: Medication given by mouth to induce a state of drowsiness and relaxation, often resulting in little to no memory of the procedure. IV Sedation/General Anesthesia: For more extensive procedures or highly anxious patients, an anesthesiologist may administer IV sedation or general anesthesia, rendering the child completely unconscious and pain-free. A key aspect of their service is the collaboration between experienced pediatric dentists and board-certified anesthesiologists. This team approach ensures that the child's oral health needs are addressed effectively while their safety and comfort are continuously monitored by an anesthesia professional. This allows the dental team to focus solely on the treatment, often completing multiple procedures in a single visit, thereby reducing the need for repeated appointments and minimizing parental time away from work. Children's Dental Sedation Center of Atlanta emphasizes a personalized approach, with a thorough pre-sedation evaluation to determine the most appropriate and safest sedation method for each child. They provide detailed instructions to parents regarding pre- and post-sedation care to ensure a smooth recovery. Their commitment to safety, efficiency, and creating a positive dental memory for children sets them apart in pediatric dental care.

While my overall experience was pleasant and every interaction with the staff and doctors was positive, I want to give a special shoutout to Stacey. She is phenomenal, and I truly appreciate her attention to detail, caring spirit, and the words of wisdom she shared with me during my visit. Her exceptional customer service skills are greatly appreciated.

I was pretty anxious. The front desk receptionists just appeared disinterested, bothered and not on the same page with what i was previously told about scheduling. However, the day of my 3-year-old procedure the Medical Assistant was a breath of fresh air and a delight. She turned our experience into one I will never forget.

She gave us step by step updates on the entire process. Thank you. Actually, we had to get less work done than expected and staff did a follow up call, all is well, checking on Braylon to ensure all is well 😃

This is just a PSA to watch out for Dentistry For Children & Children’s Dental Sedation Center . My daughter had a couple cavities that they wanted to fill and was going to need sedation for dental anxiety. We traveled all the way to Sedation Center this morning in Sandy Springs and they said she needed 7 CROWNS. ON BABY TEETH.

They would not work with me at all and demanded it was an all or nothing situation. I said absolutely not, I will get a second opinion and walked out of their facility. This is NOT what the original dentist told us she needed and I'm not sure where the disconnect was, but my gut told me to not to go through with it.

Revised review post phone call with the Dr. And the manager. After a very nice conversation with the Dr and the manager, the mistakes that were made will be taken care of so they don't happen in the future. From the misinformation told by the tech, to being given someone else's paperwork, all would be dealt with. A tech should never misinform a patient nor the parent.

This is not what you are taught in school. Honesty and transparency is extremely important in the field of healthcare. If this tech was directed to tell us misinformation, then the person directing her was in the wrong. Can't put the tech at full fault of this because we will never have the clarity as to whether she did this on her own, or was instructed to do so. So in conclusion, I will give the procedure 5 stars.

Pre and post procedure is still 1 star. The tech is the first and last person you encounter during any procedure, and she should have been honest and straightforward. You absolutely should not lie to a patient or parent, even if you're trying to prevent anxiety.
