Detailed Introduction

Children's Dental Sedation Center of Gainesville is a specialized dental clinic dedicated to providing comprehensive oral health care for children. Located at 655 Jesse Jewell Pkwy suite d, Gainesville, GA 30501, it is part of the Children's Dental Sedation Center of Atlanta network, which also has locations in Stockbridge and Atlanta. The clinic focuses on making dental visits stress-free and positive for young patients, understanding that children often experience anxiety or have difficulty cooperating during dental procedures. Their primary expertise lies in sedation dentistry for children. They offer various levels of anxiety control tailored to each child's specific needs, health history, age, and temperament. Options include: Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas): A mild sedative administered through a small mask over the child's nose, allowing them to relax while remaining conscious and maintaining natural reflexes. It's a safe and effective technique recognized by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Oral Sedation: A liquid medicine given to the child to help them feel more at ease. This method can make the child drowsy but they remain conscious. General Anesthesia: For more extensive procedures or for children with significant anxiety, special needs, or complex treatment plans, general anesthesia may be recommended and is typically performed at hospital settings like CHOA or Northeast Georgia Medical Center. The clinic prides itself on creating a comfortable and reassuring environment. Their offices are designed to be kid-friendly, often featuring televisions above the dental chairs to help distract and entertain children during their visit. The team consists of dedicated professionals who are trained to work with children, including those with special needs. They emphasize clear communication with both children and parents to ensure a positive experience and a lifetime of good oral health habits. Children's Dental Sedation Center of Gainesville aims to complete treatment plans efficiently, often in a single visit when possible, to minimize parental time away from work and provide a more convenient experience.

I was skeptical because the reviews are so mixed and because I’m very picky when it comes to my kid and how comfortable they make her feel, but the staff here is so nice everyone involved walks you step by step through the procedure. I really liked them and overall had a great experience.

I had a horrible experience with them. First, i had to wait for 40 mins for the front office to check if the insurance covers, which this supposed to be done before patients arrive to their appointments. I went for my daughter to have 2 of her front teeth removed so can let the permanent one grow normal. They came back with a treatment plan to remove 6 baby tooth ( which anyway they will fall soon) and a crown.

I told them that my main concern right now is the 2 front teeth and I was told in my face that the doctor will not see my daughter just for the 2 teeth. If I want to proceed with all the treatment plan the doctor recommended if not to go to another doctor. They don’t care about the kids. Just business!

The reviews here are misleading. Sorry to those that had a bad experience, ours was nothing short of wonderful. Our son was handled with adequate professional care. The dental team and nurses calmed every fear I had. They even gave us an extra pull up to change our son into before surgery. The dentist was kind and courteous and explained everything on a basis that he is a dad too and would not do anything he wouldn’t do for his own children.

The nurse was very sweet and good to our son. If my child ever needed IV sedation again I wouldn’t think twice about choosing CSCG. If your child is referred here for dental sedation rest assured that they are in good hands. They even called to check on our son about 2 hours after surgery.

Receptionists, nurses, and the doctor very friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. Knowing this could be scary and uneasy for both parent and child they were receptive to all feelings. I cannot say the same for the anesthesiologist. He just wanted to say his routine checklist and not have a conversation with parent in the middle of it.

I was cut off and was told to “let him finish”. I don’t think he cares about parent or child, just wants to get through his “ patients” as quickly as possible. Hopefully I won’t have to have any more work done and if I do I won’t be going back just because of him. Also, little worried I was told it was okay to leave within 20 minutes of my child waking up from anesthesia!? Might be normal, not sure!
