Detailed Introduction

Children's Dentistry and Orthodontics, with a prominent location at 6415 S Fort Apache Rd Suite 150, Las Vegas, NV 89148, is a dedicated dental clinic specializing in pediatric dentistry and orthodontics. Their mission is to provide a positive and comfortable experience for children, fostering healthy oral habits that last a lifetime. The clinic is specifically designed with children in mind, featuring a fun atmosphere in the reception area with video games, puzzles, books, and large flat-screen TVs playing children's movies to help kids feel relaxed and entertained. Their services encompass a wide range of pediatric dental care, including preventive measures like routine examinations, professional teeth cleanings, fluoride treatments to strengthen enamel, and dental sealants to protect against cavities. They also offer restorative dentistry for issues like tooth decay and gum disease, as well as early dental care for infants and toddlers, following the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry guideline of a first dental visit by the first birthday. A significant aspect of their practice is orthodontics. They conduct orthodontic evaluations to monitor a child's dental development and recommend early interventions if necessary. Services include traditional metal braces, clear aligners (like Spark), and other orthodontic appliances to correct misaligned teeth and bite issues, ensuring proper spacing and alignment for both aesthetic and functional benefits. They also provide sedation options for anxious or special needs children, making treatments more manageable. The clinic emphasizes a compassionate and individualized approach, with a team trained to work effectively with children of all ages, including those with special needs or anxiety. They aim to create a "dental home" where children feel safe and comfortable, promoting a positive outlook on dental care from an early age. Testimonials often highlight the friendly and attentive staff, the doctors' gentle approach, and the overall child-friendly environment.

If I could give zero stars, I would! Our first experience here wasn't great, and I always meant to find another dentist for my 3 year old but life got busy and we already had the standing appointment so I figured we would give it another try. Firstly, the waiting room is so small it is so uncomfortable if more than two families are waiting. We were the fourth family upon entering. We checked in, sat and waited. Imagine my surprise when 4 minutes later another family comes in and the front desk is now telling them they're an hour behind and the wait is about 54 minutes. Excuse me, WHAT? Why couldn't they tell me that?! I had an impatient 3 year old who was ready to get this done and go eat. Turns out, they were checking people in right away so if they left they could still charge the appointment. How do I know? Because 1 lady at the desk told the guy if he checks in and they leave theyll be charged, while the other one told him, "Sorry I checked you in you'll have to stay or be charged. " They did the same thing to the next family as well.

And the next families had to wait in their car because the small waiting room was jam packed. We were already there so I tried to stick it out best I can and was about to just walk out at the 30 minute mark but then they called us back for xrays and sent us back to the waiting room. Another 30 minutes later they called us back only to wait another 20 minutes. The dentist herself was absolutely wonderful and great with my daughter, but the rest of the staff you would think never dealt with children before. Odd, considering it's a children's dentist. They rushed through her exam, my daughter started getting way too antsy at this point and then they practically rushed us out the door. Very thankful to one tech who found some stickers to make my daughter happy since they apparently don't have their treasure chest anymore to reward the small kids. An hour and a half later walking out, they want to schedule her follow up. Told them no, we won't be back and both girls at the desk weren't surprised at all.

Way understaffed, extremely overbooked and a major waste of time. I'm sorry, but if you see a mama and a tiny tot coming in and you know it's over an hour wait. Tell them. Chances are we would much rather reschedule for another day. The entire place feels extremely run down and outdated. And their number one priority seemed to be to pretend to examine as many people as possible and make as much money as they can.
