The care I have received from Columbia dental clinic has been outstanding. I have been a patient of the clinic for over a year. My dentist, Supraja, a Columbia Dental graduate student, worked with me to create a plan to address my teeth (I had 10+ cavities). She was welcoming, communicative, and helped educate me on how to improve my oral health at every turn. Prior to seeing Supraja, I had not had a cleaning in 4 years and had a good deal of dental phobia.

I can credit her with not only resuscitating my teeth, but turning around my attitude toward dental care and dental health in general. The other hospital staff that I interacted with were professional and kind. As someone who does not have dental insurance, I am so grateful for the affordable and quality dental care that the Clinic provides. Would absolutely recommend.

Ruined my teeth. Kept coming back with pain that lasted for weeks. I could tell they were money hungry cause they claimed I needed 4+ visits in order to fix all of my mouth. Supposedly had cavities everywhere but other dentists begged to differ. They also got weirdly excited when I mentioned where I worked.

They called me 3 weeks ago to see if I wanted to come in for services. I asked how they got my number. She (reception) said it was in their data base. I said my insurance wasn't accepted last time. She reassured me all was ok. So I accepted the appointment. They emailed me confirmation. I replied affirming my approval of appointment. They text me confirmation. I affirmed again. Like every other day email seeing if I was still coming in. My appointment was yesterday 11. 19. 2024 at 11AM. The night before I received a text asking me for a copy of my insurance card.

It was a 646 phone number. I was leery so I text back no and blocked the number. I took Access A Ride to my appointment. Walked up to reception. Gave her my name. She asked for my insurance. Then says we don't accept this. I handed her my Medicaid card. She said oh we don't accept this either. I was so angry. But I reserved my anger and asked her why in the world would she have me come all the way from the Northeast Bronx just to deny my visit. Her tone was basically (oh well). I asked her again. This time she said I text you and asked for your insurance. I said I thought that was a spam number.

She was like no that was me. You saw that number before. I said Miss no I haven't. You text from 347# with a 212# to call with any problems. You could have emailed like you been doing almost daily. She went "deaf" on me. I said my Access A Ride Return isn't until 1:00PM. Thank God the customer service representative at Access A Ride believed my dilemma and sent me a rescue ride back home (that's an early ride home). Imagine sitting in that empty office for 2 hours waiting for my ride home. Or taking 3 buses (yes 3) out of that neighborhood back uptown to the Bronx. They need not ever call me again. Bad enough people have anxiety about going to the dentist. Smh.

I strongly recommend Columbia Dental Services. The office is clean and modern. I had a dental emergency and they saw me the same day and took care of my tooth.
