Dr. Susan B. Gibson, DMD, is a highly experienced periodontist and the founder of Commonwealth Periodontics and Implant Center. She established her surgical practice, limited to periodontal surgery and dental implants, in July 1991. Dr. Gibson is a native of Southeastern Kentucky, where she pursued her undergraduate studies in chemistry and music at the University of the Cumberlands. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 1988, followed by a one-year General Practice Residency at the Louisville VA Medical Center. She then completed her Periodontal Surgical Residency at Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.
