Detailed Introduction

The Community Health Center of Meriden is a major site of the larger organization, Community Health Center, Inc. (CHC), a non-profit healthcare provider with a long history of serving Connecticut's communities. The Meriden location was established in 1991 to serve the residents of Meriden and the surrounding areas of Wallingford, Cheshire, and Southington. CHC's overarching mission, since its founding in 1972, is to build a world-class primary healthcare system that is accessible to all, with a special commitment to the uninsured, underinsured, and other underserved populations. The Meriden center embodies this mission by offering a comprehensive suite of primary care services. These services include general medicine for the entire family, dentistry for both adults and children, and integrated behavioral health services. The behavioral health team comprises psychologists, social workers, and other specialists who provide support for issues such as managing stress, depression, anxiety, and addiction. The clinic also offers specialized services like prenatal care, podiatry, and urgent care for non-life-threatening conditions. The Community Health Center of Meriden serves as a hub for many of CHC's broader initiatives, including behavioral health programs in local schools, mobile dentistry services, and healthcare for the homeless in shelters within the city. A sliding fee scale is available to all patients, ensuring that high-quality healthcare remains affordable regardless of a person's ability to pay. The clinic is funded by the U.S. Public Health Service and has a strong commitment to its community, consistently working to improve health outcomes and build healthier communities through clinical excellence, research, and innovation.

Convenient but don't feel like the patient is of primary importance. The medical staff changes quite frequently.

This has to be the worst doctors office. They’re always late, they never keep your appointment time, they don’t care for their patients, they don’t listen to their patients at all. 10/10 don’t recommend seeing Dr. Masabni she has no regard for her patients. She’s always dismissive and simply doesn’t care.

After my daughter was diagnosed with an acute cerebrum infection after taking her to the children’s hospital. I am very disappointed with all the doctors I’ve seen before I had to take her to the children’s hospital. First they couldn’t see her, then it was wait another day, then after calling several times with no answer it was take her to the er.

Now I’m switching doctors and just found out that it can take 30 days to get records sent to the new doctors. How in the world can you say you help the community when you don’t care about your patients health?? I still haven’t took my daughter in for a check up since one I don’t want to wait for two hours and two they are not going to do what they should do for her, I’m 100% sure their answer would be she looks good.

No issues with checking in downstairs, always kind. The dentist is amazing and warm to come to. The building does feel like you're arriving at prison, however.
