I went here as a new patient for concerning about my implant crown issues. Appointment and new intake procedure was very smooth. Dental x-ray process was same as mentioned above, Dr. Vincentry who looked at me problem, explained and suggested well for alternative solutions for my issues. So far I had a very good experience as first time visit. Thank you!

I am writing to formally file a complaint against Concerned dental care – Upper West Side, located at 657 Amsterdam Avenue, New York, NY 10025, for what I believe was a discriminatory denial of medical treatment based on my religion. On Monday, April 7, 2025, at 2:30 PM, I arrived at the clinic for a scheduled wisdom tooth extraction. I provided my insurance information and was called in by a nurse, who asked me to remove my jacket and any metal in preparation for dental X-rays. I informed the nurse that I had already sent my current X-rays via email to the office and believed there was no need for additional imaging. After a short wait, a dentist named Dr. Johnson entered the room. She asked for my age, which I provided.

I then informed her that my appointment was scheduled with another doctor, not her. She said she would check with the front desk. A few minutes later, her assistant returned and told me that Dr. Johnson would no longer be treating me, claiming that she “didn’t like how I spoke to her” and that I needed to leave immediately. I was shocked. I had been respectful throughout the brief exchange and had only calmly noted that my appointment was with a different provider. When I asked if this refusal of service was because I am Muslim—which I believe to be the only plausible explanation given the lack of any inappropriate behavior on my part—I received no clear response.

Instead, I was told dismissively to “have a nice day. ” The assistant’s tone was hostile and unprofessional, and the clinic staff offered no reasonable justification for denying me care. I left the clinic feeling humiliated and deeply hurt by what I believe to be a clear act of religious discrimination. I respectfully request that your office investigate this incident. No one should be denied medical treatment or made to feel unsafe or unwelcome because of their faith. I am prepared to provide further documentation or speak with an investigator if needed.

I had a 9:20am appt for my 6 month annual. I was seen on time. X-rays right to the exam room for my cleaning then the dr came to review the X-rays and do his exam. Very quick visit. I even left with a goody bag of things to continue my dental hygiene maintenance.

I booked an appointment online a month in advance just to show up and have them tell me they don’t have the appointment on file, don’t carry my insurance, and the hygienist I was scheduled for no longer works there. When I attempted to call the office there is no way to get through the system to speak with someone in the office.

This company needs to fix their booking system because I did everything I could to check with my provider and go through their extremely detailed appointment process to make sure I could be seen.
