Cornerstone Family Healthcare is a long-standing non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that has been serving the communities of the Hudson Valley, New York, for over 50 years, with its roots tracing back to 1967. Their mission is to deliver high-quality, comprehensive, primary, and preventative health care services in an environment of caring, dignity, and respect to all people, regardless of their ability to pay. They are particularly dedicated to meeting the needs of underserved populations and those who lack access to healthcare due to race, economic status, age, sex, sexual orientation, or disability. As an Article 28 Diagnostic and Treatment Center licensed by the State of New York and a Section 330 Federally Qualified Health Center recognized by the Federal Government, Cornerstone Family Healthcare holds significant designations such as Medically Underserved Area (MUA), Medically Underserved Population (MUP), and serving in a Health Professionals Shortage Area (HPSA). They are also accredited by The Joint Commission, a distinction that few community health Centers achieve, and recognized as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH). Their comprehensive range of services includes: Medical Care: Family medicine, adult medicine, pediatrics, women's health (OB/GYN), podiatry/foot care, cardiology/heart care, and urgent care (in Newburgh). dental care: Comprehensive dental services for adults and children. behavioral health: Counseling, therapy, and medication management for various mental health concerns, including stress, depression, anxiety, relationship problems, grief, substance abuse, and PTSD, offered in a compassionate and confidential environment. Optometry/Eye Care: High-quality eye health and vision care for adults and children. Audiology/Ear Care: Patient and family-centered audiological care for all ages. Support Services & Programs: These include HIV/AIDS services, Women, Infants & Children (WIC) nutrition programs, Healthcare for the Homeless (with a dedicated clinic in Orange County), Wellness Coaching for chronic conditions, case management, and assistance with identifying and enrolling in insurance programs. They also offer free HIV, Hepatitis C, and STI testing. I had been visiting Cornerstone Family Healthcare in Port Jervis awhile back. I recently returned back to them and My Dr is Wendy Rodriguez let me tell you she is the best , she listens and man oh man she is very thorough. I just love that about her! she is the best. So glad I came back to them and that I have her as my Dr.

After going to the emergency room last year I was told to follow up with my PCP. After calling I found out that he retired. I wanted to find a PCP close to home and somebody I would really trust with my healthcare and most important take my insurance . I decided to try Cornerstone family health in Port Jervis. I called and set up an appointment they assigned me Wendy. Best decision I’ve ever made. Wendy is the most caring nicest person I could’ve asked for.

She isn’t one of those health care professionals that are cold and talk down to you. She will suggest test that she feels would be beneficial to my health care. I have said no to a test or two and she wouldn’t push it. But if she saw something that wasn’t right I would get a phone call or a video call to tell me I needed it in the most sincerest and caring way. It’s kind of funny that she cares more about my health than I do lol. If that’s not a good reason to keep my healthcare with Wendy I don’t know what is. I never thought I would find another healthcare provider I really liked.

The whole staff is great there from reception all the way down the line. I actually look forward to getting my blood work done. Whenever I have get blood drawn the person that does it is really patient with me and makes me feel so comfortable and she always has a smile (I’m afraid of needles) I call her my favorite vampire lol. I’ve been a patient for over a year now. My old insurance company dropped my plan after being so happy with the care I’ve been given I searched for a plan that had Cornerstone family health on their list just so I can keep my health care with a place that I feel comfortable safe and happy with. All and all I’m happy with Cornerstone family health and I’m sure you would be too.
