I went to Cosmo dental today for the first time with my five year old daughter who had an appointment there. When we first got there, the front desk ladies were very nice. They were very approachable and very kind, especially with me because I had my two month old daughter with me as well. I was given the form to fill out and my daughter was called in to see the dentist. I asked the dental assistant if I needed to come in and she said not as yet then she came back and called me in. When I spoke to the dentist, he didn’t even introduce himself so I don’t even know his name. He proceeded to ask me what I needed done even though when I booked the appointment, I was told about a $149 special. I told him I wanted to get her teeth examined and possibly cleaned, if that is what he does. He said okay and he started on my daughter.

While she had her mouth opened, apparently it wasn’t opened wide enough because she was distracted changing the channels on the tv. He snatched the remote from her hand saying that he knows that she wants to watch TV right now but he doesn’t have time for that and I didn’t even notice that my daughter got scratched with the tool he was using until she told me when we got outside when he was snatching the remote. The moment he snatched the remote, I wanted snap at him but I held my composure. After that, he proceeded to tell me that she has cavities and she would need to get an x-ray done. I asked him how much it would be and he told me $64. I said OK go ahead and do the x-ray then after that, he proceeded to tell me that she had cavities. I asked him how much was that. He wrote $300 on the paper for one cavity, then proceeded to write three more $300 which would’ve been $1200 total. He asked me if I want to get them done.

I said no he said he knows I don’t have insurance. I said don’t wanna get it done so he took her to the x-ray and he came back and said he didn’t see anything, like he said before , then he called me again and said that she would need to get the cavities fixed and asked me when I wanna get them done. I told him I do not know because I would have to save the money and honestly at that point I was so over him because I felt as though my daughter was being rushed and him telling me he has a tight schedule has nothing to do with me. If Saturdays are busy, do not book kids, especially knowing you will need to be a bit more patientand understanding with them. I am not bashing the front desk ladies at all because those ladies were very kind to us but my daughter and I won’t be back. To the dentist, my constructive criticism to you is, be me more patient and kind to younger patients and don’t just be in for the money. Thanks

I,ve been going to Cosmo since I retired 24 years ago. In general it's all been good to great. June 10 I went for my annual cleaning and after cleaning the dentist checked my teeth did the normal numbers and said redo a couple of times. I asked him to show me what he was talking about. Well he placed a little pink mirror on my chest and left saying "make the appointments". I paid my bill and left. Yes I have insurance that wasn't the problem.

I just wanted to know what he was going to work on. Oh well maybe next cleaning I'll find out. WELL its a year later did my next cleaning which was excellent. Great hygienist. Decided I'll see dentist on my next check up in 2026. 5 star cleaning .

We all know that dentists are. . . well, the way they are,since the thing is not regulated provincially or federally. Cosmo dental center takes the cake.

I had , indeed,a complicated situation, extractions, followed by som partial denture. The good doctor talked for an hour telling me that I need to extract some good teeth,for symetrie, although I said I do not trust him,he kept talking for an hour until I left him speaking to himself. Total charge: Cad 53 for listening to a fraud. I do have a good dental plan,he said we should avoid the plan if I want the intervention fast. Stay away!
