I have had only the best experience with this office. The staff is wonderful and totally committed to your needs and the doctor couldn't be nicer. Have had two implants done without a hitch and couldn't have asked for a more positive experience. Highly recommend. With all the dental work I've had in my life, Dr. Miremadi ranks at the top. Thank you so much for taking care of me.

My daughter had an appointment to have teeth extracted. First, I was surprised when I went to pay my portion of the bill. I was told there was "a small fee for credit card transactions. " That "small fee" ended up being $16!!! I made a quick trip to the back to pull out the cash instead. Then, my daughter waited in the lobby for about an hour before being called back. Finally, while my daughter was in the back, I spoke to one of the women at the desk about keeping the teeth in case my daughter wanted them. The woman told me that they typically ask before the surgery begins.

Later, I found out this was not true. The dentist had thrown them in the trash with other teeth and debris. Being in this business, they should be aware that especially children through teenagers may want to keep their teeth. An effort should be made to ask prior to the extraction, and if not sure, to separate the teeth and ask afterwards. Kind of thoughtless in my opinion.

Posting this to try to help any young people who are considering getting preventative/elective jaw surgery to “fix” their bites before they’re 25 years old. I highly recommend you go to an orofacial myofunctional therapist first and make sure you don’t have a tongue thrust; if you do have a tongue thrust address it before getting orthodontia and/or surgery. Then if you still have a bite problem, I recommend you go to at least 2 orthodontists and 2 oral surgeons to get their opinions, and wait to do jaw surgery until you’re in their mid 20’s when your jaw has stopped growing (unless it’s an emergency surgery obviously). I’m writing all this because in 2009, at the age of 17, I was told by Dr Kulkarni (an orthodontist) and Dr. Miremadi that I needed jaw surgery to be able to fix my end to end bite.

Dr. Miremadi also told me that he’d probably be able to fix my deviated septum during the surgery (which I found out later he did not do). The jaw surgery was obviously painful, but my bite did look good a few months after surgery; unfortunately, after more time passed (2 years after the surgery) my bite moved back to how it was pre-jaw surgery. And yes I had a permanent bottom retainer and wore my top retainer consistently, but I’ve had many dental professionals tell me they believe my bite moved back to how it was pre surgery because it’s normal for young peoples’ jaws to keep growing past the age of 17. The dental professionals I’ve seen since the jaw surgery include 3 periodontists, 3 orthodontists, 2 endodontists, and 4 dentists in the DC/Virginia/Maryland area and they’ve pretty much all told me that unless a jaw surgery is medically imperative it’s not recommended for high schoolers since they’re often still growing.

I hope others can leave from what happened to me. I’ve had so many dental issues since the unsuccessful jaw surgery, including two gum grafts, two root canals, and two front teeth extractions. The dental professionals I’ve seen since my jaw surgery hypothesized my gums became recessed and my two of my teeth got infected, in part due to the jaw surgery not correcting my bite and also from the trauma of the rushed and extreme ortho pre-jaw surgery in addition to the trauma on the teeth of the jaw surgery itself. Now I’m 32 and about to get two dental implants this year, and in order to fix my end to end bite I’ve been told I’ll most likely need braces and/or jaw surgery again, in addition to continued myofunctional therapy.

Great service, I had my bottom jaw corrected by Doctor Miremadi. I have nothing but good things to say about him and his staff. Doctor Mirenadi was up front and honest with how this whole procedure would go. The staff helped with my schedule and with my work so I could use my insurance. I honestly feel I got a new start to my life with Doctor Mirenadi's help. For this I will forever be grateful.
