We had been going to DeBlouw Dentistry for about a year and recently - a few things coincided to push me towards a cancelation of all our families upcoming appointments and - leaving this review. I initially came to DeBlouw after calling several others who would accept my then two year old son’s dental insurance and was glad to have found a dentist that did accept his insurance and close to home. Our first appointment was essentially an introduction to get him acquainted with going to the dentist. Both the hygenist and dentist were forceful concerning the use of a fluoride varnish.

I was not so sure a child so young should be administered such a procedure but despite my misgivings - I conceded to the doctors recommendation. With another upcoming appointment I looked up several studies concerning the use of flouride in baby teeth along with the effects of fluoride on the developing brain and - yes, it’s just a varnish but the mouth is porous and in short - would no longer accept the procedure until he was older. But-did not hold it against the dentist - reasoning that information is ever evolving and one has the power to choose. Then recently - I received a bill for both of my sons visits - totaling close to 400 dollars and so I called to resolve the matter.

I thought a simple phone call would suffice - considering he was accepted as a patient based on his insurance - and even receiving confirmation after each appointment with a statement of zero balance due- only to be told that his insurance was never accepted and I would have to pay immediately. I was surprised that they would not take responsibility for the mistake. When adding up the pieces of my experience- I could no longer trust this practice nor their medical advice. luring someone in based on misinformation - is not ethical

If I could give Dr. DeBlouw and her team 10 stars I would. Every single person I’ve interacted with while being there has been phenomenal, everyone is so personal and makes the atmosphere super comforting. Dr.

DeBlouw is amazing and has done a great job with every procedure I’ve needed in the last year, truly the first dentist I’ve been able to trust fully and be able to communicate comfortably with. And just sooooo sweet! I love chit chatting with her and the team when I come in for my appointments. 😊
