I scheduled an appointment 6 months in advance based on my work schedule. Today, I left work with multiple missed phone calls from them saying I missed my appointment. They ended up changing my scheduled appointment time. They sent me a email of a new appointment time with no explanation just a few hours before the appointment, which I missed due to being at work.

I called and apparently they don’t inform patients when their appointments get rescheduled unless you’re on a special call list. I understand things can get crazy and miscommunication occurs. What really bothers me is after calling them back and rescheduling for their limited available appointments, where I’ll have to leave work for, I got an email asking me to sign a patient form agreeing to $50 fine in missed appointments.

Extremely Disappointed – Would Not Recommend Our family had been patients at this dental office for years—long before it was sold to Dr. Balthaser when Dr. Petricoin own the practiced I went here from a young kid to now. Sadly, once the practice changed hands, everything went downhill fast. So as they now say in their response that it hasn’t been sold in 20 years. Yes I know the practice sucked for 20 years. I suffer from severe dental anxiety, which was noted in my chart, yet my concerns were continuously ignored and random dentists would do my dental work. Here are just a few of the unacceptable experiences we endured: 1. My own filling experience was traumatic. Despite my file stating that only Dr.

B should work on me due to my anxiety, I was assigned to another dentist. I sat in the chair for three hours while she struggled to complete a simple filling. No one even realized I was still in the room until a receptionist came looking. Dr. B finally finished the work—and then I was hit with a $500 charge. 2. My husband had crowns done on his front teeth, and they were so poorly made that he could literally pop them on and off with his fingers. No one believed him until he came in holding them in his hand. 3. The final straw was with our 8-year-old daughter.

She had a few small cavities and one larger one. They recommended a baby root canal under anesthesia for $3,000. That felt extreme for a baby tooth, so we got a second opinion. The new dentist was appalled. The large cavity was handled with a simple extraction, and the rest were treated while she was awake with just laughing gas. After we left the practice, we even received a six-month-old bill and were told it would go to collections if not paid—despite no ongoing relationship with the office. To top it off, when we transferred our records, the X-rays were cut off and unreadable, forcing us to redo them at the new office.

Needed a dental appliance made, which is not covered by my insurance. Because my family dentist does not have an in-house lab, I would have to wait weeks and pay more for the appliance. So grateful that Dental Arts of Wyomissing has their own lab! The wait time was greatly reduced and so was my cost for the appliance. While this office is not local for me, it was worth the drive! Everyone I interacted with was pleasant and professional.

The facility is beautiful. . . even the bathroom for patients is immaculate!

I’m not a patient here, but my husband is. I’m writing this review because I find it annoying that every single appointment he has had/scheduled for the future is rescheduled or changed. It’s super annoying and frustrating! Something isn’t right with the way they schedule appointments. I understand if it happened once or even twice and I realize emergencies come up, but when every single appointment gets changed or cancelled, that’s a huge red flag in my book.

I told him to find a new dentist and that’s just what he did! UPDATE: they emailed a bill to my husband (no explanation as to what this bill is for). When he tried to contact the office to question it, nobody answered the phone. Absolutely pathetic customer service. I’m not surprised though!
