About

Dental Assistant School Grand Rapids appears to be a specialized training program, potentially affiliated with or referring to programs within the Grand Rapids area, rather than a standalone, independent educational institution. While the name suggests a dedicated school, information points to shorter, focused courses or programs offered by other entities, such as Grand Rapids Community College or Michigan Dental Assisting School, that cater to aspiring dental assistants in the region.

Detailed Introduction

The "Dental Assistant School Grand Rapids" seems to serve as a general descriptor or a localized program name within the broader landscape of dental assisting education in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. It is not identified as a distinct, accredited institution with its own comprehensive website or extensive independent presence in the search results. Instead, information related to dental assistant training in Grand Rapids frequently points to established educational providers such as Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC) and Michigan Dental Assisting School. GRCC, for example, offers a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited Dental Assisting Certificate Program. This program typically runs for two semesters (approximately nine months) and provides comprehensive training, including hands-on experience in a dental clinic, preparing graduates to take the Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) exam. The estimated cost for in-district students is around $5,500. Another prominent option is the Michigan Dental Assisting School, which offers a more accelerated 10-week program. This program emphasizes hands-on training in a simulated dental clinic and aims to prepare students for entry-level positions. It includes X-ray certification, OSHA and HIPAA certificates, and CPR certification. The tuition for this 10-week course is approximately $3,699, which includes textbooks and materials. It's important to note that Michigan Dental Assisting School, while licensed by the State of Michigan, is not accredited by the American Dental Association's Commission on Dental Accreditation, meaning its graduates may not be eligible for licensure as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) in Michigan through this program alone. Both types of programs, whether the longer, accredited college programs or shorter, more focused courses, aim to equip students with the necessary skills for a career in dental assisting, covering topics such as dental anatomy, radiography, infection control, and chairside assisting techniques. Job placement assistance is often a component of these programs, with dental assistants in Michigan having a solid job outlook.

I couldn't be more happy for this career change. Amanda and Jaime have really gone above my expectations as instructor's. These ladies work hard outside of their busy work schedules to help you succeed in any way possible. As well as their help in placing you in great working environments to get the hands on experience you need to become a great dental assistant.

This school is based in a real dental setting with high technology. It is really fast pace but with small class sizes it is really easy to recieve the learning and one on one help you need.

I would recommend the Dental Assistant School of Grand Rapids Area to anyone who is interested in entering the Dental field. It's nice that the classes are once a week (on Saturdays,) so you're still able to maintain a full time job while going to school. The hands on lab portion was where I personally learned the most and the externship truly put everything into perspective.

If you have questions about lecture, or anything in general, Amanda is great at getting back to you in a timely fashion and Deric & Jen are extremely helpful when learning in the operatories. Fast paced, small classroom environment was great!
