Billing team makes mistakes as read in Yelp. I will no longer be attending. I am still owed $1330 from their team from November. When I went in for my crown, the receptionist told me insurance didn’t pay the claim so I had to pay if I wanted to get my cracked fake tooth covering my root canal fixed but I called insurance and they said they paid before the date and I need to talk to billing.

When I talked to billing, they told me I need to insurance and then I called them multiple times for them to admit it was their system. I also left a message I would take them to small claims court and then got something back that they will finally send me a check February 3rd. Well guess what, this weekend I got an invoice from them that I owe $225 which I paid during my root canal! They claim they’re switching systems but I should have never had to pay in the first place if they were on top of it! I now see through yelp they have had issues with billing. I was told by the receptionist I’d get my money back right away once insurance paid and it’s now been two months.

I cannot recommend anyone to go here. It felt like insurance fraud especially since I caught the mistake. When would they have noticed it.

My wife was turned around by the receptionist (chubby white lady with light brown hair) for her appointment, while she was in pain, because the receptionist was confidently incorrect about which insurance we have and tried to get my wife to pay for more than what she was having done that day. When she questioned her about it and tried to explain that she was wrong about the payment and offered to provide proof, she was rudely told she either had to pay what she was asked to pay or cancel her appointment. Then when asked if we could prove there was an error after the fact if we could get a refund, she rudely said "we could talk about. " She ultimately ended up making my wife reschedule for TWO WEEKS later.

I called to complain and talked to a different woman who was very understanding, professional, and patient. (despite my frustration) She correctly identified my insurance, walked me through what I should have been asked to pay, and rescheduled my wife for two days later. This first woman, who again, turned away my wife who was in pain for her appointment despite her having the correct insurance she claimed to have, was completely unreasonable and unprofessional. She extended the pain my wife was having in her tooth and embarrassed her in front of the other people who were in line behind her.

If I were you and this lady was the receptionist I would wait until someone else was available and refuse to work with her. She no idea what she is doing and a miserable person to interact with. (This is not the first time shes been uninformed, unhelpful, and rude to us) This woman should have no place interacting with patients in any manner.

I just left the office because the receptionist told me I had to pay $436 to proceed with my appointment. I was NEVER informed of this prior to arriving or better yet when scheduling. She said my insurance wouldn't cover the type of scan I needed and if I wanted to go on with the appointment, I would have to pay.

Now I've been with Dental Associates for years at the Burleigh Office- no problem; I only came to this location because it's 10 minutes from my house. I should have read the reviews!
