Following his service in the United States Army, he established his practice in his hometown of Charleston. Paterno completed her undergraduate degree from West Virginia University in 2001 and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2006. She returned to Charleston to practice with her uncle, Dr. Skaff, and is dedicated to continuing education, involvement with the Kanawha Dental Health Council, and educating dental assisting students.
