I've been going to Dental Associates of Shelton for years now. I was even going to them when I lived in Hamden! They are so nice and welcoming there. They know be my name! The care you receive there is top notch and they will not shame you for not having perfect teeth or for not seeing an orthodontist as a child. I have gotten multiple procedures with them including cleanings, x-rays, cavity fillings, crown placements, and even an extraction! They referred me to another facility for a root canal.
They will answer any questions that you have and are easy to schedule with. I won't go to any other dental office! I like the way I am treated here.

Dr. Caserta is always professional and always a joy. He did a great job and even fixed an error he found with my insurance that saved me money. Great practice and everyone who works there is wonderfully pleasant and family oriented. I have been bringing my kids here since the beginning of their journey 17 years ago.

Staff is always friendly. I have been coming here for probably 20 years now and never an issue. Kelly is great. I am not much for chit chatting while I have stuff in my mouth, but she is chatty enough to be friendly and then lets me be.

Let me start off with I have my family and I have been at Shelton dental for more than 15 years. I started with seeing Casterta sr, then Dr. Casterta then Dr Basu. When Dr. Basu left I saw the next Dr that came in not sure his name . I had extreme pain in my tooth all weekend so Yesterday 7/1/24 I saw Dr. Saunders who is now replacing the other guy. So X-ray done fine out my tooth has nerve damage down to the bone. So she gives me antibiotics and refers me to get the tooth extracted. When I asked about pain meds because I had been in severe pain she tells me to take 3 Motrin and 1 extra strength Tylenol and with the antibiotics I should be fine. Ok so I go home and do that . except that the 3 Motrin and 1 Tylenol were not working they would fill the pain but not take it away at all .
So every 3 hrs I'm doing this through our the night because I still had so much pain I couldn't eat or sleep. So I call the dentist office at 7am left a message asking if they can prescribe pain pills until the antibiotics kick in because the Motrin and Tylenol were not working. I also asked if dt . Casterta could check my X-ray and give me a second option on weather or not I really have to get that tooth extracted because I really didn't know this new dentist. Well 10am no call back so I call the office again Lori the receptionist who is always please t but should retire by now tells me oh we are busy and short handed I'll have to call you back. So I say ok. ( Still in pain) At about 11qm Lori calls me back and proceeds to tell me that she spoke with Dr. Saunders and that the antibiotics take 72 hours to take effect 3 days! And that I should keep on taking the Advil and Tylenol. So I say well then why didn't she give me something for the 3 days until the antibiotics go into effect. She then tells me this is what they prescribe. Now in 15 plus years unless it's nothing too bad I had never been prescribed this always was prescribed a pain medication or at least told if you still have pain when you get home call us back and we will prescribe something. So I proceed to explain that to her and she begins to argue with me that that's not true! What! Am I living in an alternate universe ? So I tell her I would also like for Dr.
Casterta to look at my X-ray and transfer my file to him. Lori ,tells me you never seen Dr. Caserta. I'm like are you kidding me so you realize how long I have been with this office I have seen Casterta Sr , Dr. Casterta and explained from there. She says well I'll have to see. I'm like so you are refusing to prescribe pain meds to a patient who has severe pain and now your refusing to transfer my file to a more experience dentist in that office forget a second option! It's my right ask for a second option especially since it was my first time ever seeing this new Doctor. Long story short she got snippy and I told her it's sad you guys are at the point that you would treat a dedicated patient that has been there for almost 20 years like a #. They refused to prescribe the meds ,neither doctor never called me back and had another receptionist call to tell me my 2 choices are to see a root canal specialist or have the tooth removed by the referral they gave me. I told her my third choice is to find another dentist and hung up. Disgusting!
