Our experienced dental professionals are dedicated to providing you with the highest quality care.
After 10+ years not going to the dentist I was naturally afraid to return to the dentist. They are welcoming and non judgmental about the state of your teeth. I came in needing help with serious tooth pain. After performing X-rays and deep tissue X-rays I discovered it was nothing extremely serious. The technology is very eye opening and brings a modern twist to explaining your dental health instead of being chided about the lack of brushing, flossing etc.
After a several deep cleanings with Kevin, and over 6 months of diligent teeth care, Dental health Center of NovA has helped me get my dental health back on track and I can feel confident when I smile. Beth at the front desk is gem. Really a 10/10 experience. Thank you guys.

Dr is good but obviously dont see him every time. The staff is just fantastic. Over the years, all the hygienists I have had, are friendly and more imp, very knowledgeable. Dr Van Slooten is clearly hiring the right people and given I am complicated, they gave me to a dental guy named Derik with a Ph.
D who has improved my gums greatly. He even points out things as simple as "right handed people tend to miss the tooth at the point they turn the brush the opposite way" to explain why one tooth was less healthy" Derik is not giving random knowledge but very helpful things and is on top of the latest research. This last visit, I did not get Derik and got Claudia and was a bit disappointed at first but as she quickly ran over my medical history is was clear she was familiar with my rare disease and then she asked me about any medicine changes and I told her I would be doing chemo. She gave me suggestions on how dental hygiene could help during chemo and it turns out she is getting a degree in public health with a focus on oral and chemo.
I dont know where they find these folks but they are great and DEF NOT you average dental hygienists.

I never write anything negative about a business because I don't believe in doing that, but I had such a disturbing experience I had to write this review. I had been going to this location for my dental cleanings since before it was taken over by Brian Van Slotten. I stayed with the practice after it changed hands, and kept my regular dental care with him. He seemed caring and I thought put the patient's best interest at the forefront. I was mistaken. I have a family history of breast cancer, and I prefer not to be exposed to radiation, of any level, unnecessarily.
I had my usual cleaning and was told that, "I am due for X-rays" since it had been 1 year since my last one. I do not have any dental issues, no cavities, and felt that if it wasn't necessary, can we skip them. The dental hygienist, went to Brian Van Slotten, and told him this. Brian Van Slotten, then came over to the area I was having my teeth cleaned and told me that he would let this time be an exception, but I had to have it done at my next 6 month cleaning, or he wouldn't see me as a patient anymore. I said ok, sitting reclined in the chair, and wanting to finish my cleaning. Fast forward 6 months later, I came in for my usual cleaning.
I was told I had to get X-rays. I told the hygienist that the American Dental Association recommends X-rays every 2-3 years, as needed. He verified that I had no health issues that required an X-ray, and told me that he wouldn't clean my teeth if I didn't get an Xray because Brian Van Slotten required it. At that moment, I realized, they are not looking out for my best interest, but to be able to bill my insurance the maximum it can for each visit. There have been other issues with the practice that I let slide, but this one hit home because they were willing to make a policy about X-rays supersede a patient's radiation exposure risk with a family history of cancer.

This place is amazing - my husband and I have been going here since they opened and we've never had a bad experience! Everyone in the office is incredibly patient and kind but Derik Sven is the absolute BEST. I get it - going to the dentist is not a fun experience (sorry). Derik is arguably the BEST hygienist I have EVER seen - not even joking - I completely understand it's strange to say I have a favorite hygienist, but I do.
If you've had bad dental experiences in the past, and are looking for someone you can trust, give this place a try.
