Sams, DMD, the institute aims to provide comprehensive dental care with a strong emphasis on the vital connection between oral health and overall systemic well-being. Dr. Sams, with over three decades of experience, is committed to educating his patients about the importance of controlling and eliminating inflammation in the mouth, a key factor in periodontal disease. His philosophy centers on "doing no harm" and positively impacting the health of the community by helping patients achieve and maintain healthy, confident smiles. The institute offers a broad spectrum of dental services designed to address various oral health needs. These services fall into several categories: Preventive Care: This includes routine checkups and cleanings, dental sealants for cavity prevention, and oral cancer screenings. They also provide Perio Protect periodontal treatment for gum disease and extractions when necessary. Cosmetic Options: To enhance the aesthetics of smiles, they offer dental bonding, dental crowns and bridges, dental veneers, inlays and onlays, and professional teeth whitening (both in-office and at-home options). Restorative Care: For damaged or missing teeth, the institute provides air abrasion fillings, dental implants, wisdom teeth extractions, white fillings, and root canal therapy. The Dental Medicine Institute prides itself on incorporating the latest dental technologies to ensure accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. These technologies include air abrasion, digital X-rays, intraoral cameras, and comprehensive salivary testing, which provides an in-depth analysis of how pathogenic bacteria can affect a patient's systemic health. Beyond clinical excellence, the institute focuses on patient convenience and accessibility. They offer flexible scheduling with Saturday appointments and Sunday appointments by arrangement, as well as 24-hour emergency services for urgent dental needs. For financial accessibility, they provide various financing options, including LendingClub and in-office payment plans, and a membership plan for uninsured patients. DO NOT GO HERE. This is the first google review I have ever written, and I would give zero stars if I could. Dr. Sams saw me in September for an emergency root canal. I was in a lot of pain which he promptly relieved, and my initial appointment was good, compared to the nightmare that has followed. Firstly, he is the only person at the office, no hygienist or front desk staff, and the office is dirty with outdated and broken equipment.

At my following visit, his equipment for taking molds was broken. He does not take insurance but assured me he would call me later that day to reschedule my appointment for a permanent crown, at which point I paid him in full for my next appointment. He never called me back, and after leaving voicemails for a week, I sought dental care elsewhere, meanwhile he pocketed over 2,000 dollars from me for a crown that he never placed. At my new dentist, they informed me that he had broken a file in my root during my procedure, and referred me to a specialist where the entire root canal had to be re-done due to his terrible work on the canal itself in order for it to be successful. In October, after multiple emails trying to rectify this situation, he mailed me a bill with a post-it attached asking for my credit card information. I have sent him documentation, my xrays from my new dentist, and maxed out my dental insurance from rectifying his work which was a months long process, with no response.

If you care about your dental health, go elsewhere. He will provide you with temporary pain relief and then take your money and not respond. I will be filing a complaint with the Board of Dentistry as well, as his negligence causes more harm than good. Hope this helps anyone seeking emergency dental care.

Worst dentist ever. Had 11am appointment set since last week, came in, and was asked if I could come back later. Don't waste your time with this dentist unless you have plenty of free time to reschedule!

The dental chair for me is always scary. But truly One of my best dental experiences I've ever had. I was numbed, tooth taken care of, and out the door in only 20m. My doctor handled everything himself. One on one. And not one lecture of my dental hygien! Would highly recommend.
