Detailed Introduction

Dentistry for Children is a specialized dental practice that focuses exclusively on the oral health needs of infants, children, and adolescents. This goes beyond general dentistry, as pediatric dentists undergo additional years of specialized training after dental school, enabling them to address the unique developmental, behavioral, and treatment requirements of young patients, including those with special healthcare needs. The core philosophy of Dentistry for Children revolves around creating a positive and comfortable experience for every child, aiming to foster a lifetime of good oral hygiene habits. Their offices are often designed with children in mind, featuring child-friendly decor, toys, and entertainment to help alleviate anxiety and make visits enjoyable. The staff, from the front desk to the dental hygienists and dentists, are trained to be gentle, patient, and skilled in communicating with children and their parents. Services offered typically span a wide range of pediatric dental care, including: Preventive Care: This is a cornerstone of pediatric dentistry and includes routine dental exams, professional cleanings, fluoride treatments to strengthen enamel, and dental sealants to protect molars from decay. Restorative Treatments: For issues like cavities, they provide fillings (often tooth-colored), dental crowns, and other restorative procedures to repair damaged teeth. Early Orthodontic Evaluation: While not always providing full orthodontic treatment, pediatric dentists monitor the development of a child's bite and jaw, offering early interventions or referrals to orthodontists when necessary. Oral Health Education: A significant part of their role involves educating parents and children on proper brushing and flossing techniques, healthy eating habits, and the importance of regular dental visits. Management of Dental Trauma: They are equipped to handle dental emergencies such as chipped, fractured, or knocked-out teeth. Behavior Management Techniques: Pediatric dentists are skilled in various techniques, including nitrous oxide (laughing gas) or other forms of sedation, to help anxious children relax during procedures. Care for Special Needs Patients: They have specific training and experience in providing dental care for children with physical, developmental, or cognitive disabilities, adapting their approach to meet individual needs. The aim is to establish a "dental home" for children, where they can receive continuous, comprehensive oral healthcare from an early age through adolescence. This continuity of care allows for early detection and intervention of potential problems, promoting long-term oral health and overall well-being.

This was our first visit to the Dunwoody branch of Dentistry for children, and we had a wonderful reception starting from the front desk to the hygienist and to the doctor. Beautiful staff with warm and welcoming smiles. The environment is so kids friendly with kids-appropriate entertainment and free video games.

Not forgetting the goodies for the kids at the tail end. We had a wonderful experience and we will visit again and again and again!!! I recommend this place to anyone wanting a dentist for their kids.

I took my kids here this afternoon for the first and very last time. They are originally patients of the location in Sandy Springs which is more professional, clean, less chaotic, and you don't have to wait two hours. There are a bunch of young people who work here, especially the front desk. I had to check one of the young Spanish girls sitting directly in the middle today sitting there like she cute. I mumbled something to myself while signing in and she was on the phone. I used the word "damn" and this little girl had the nerve to wait two minutes and ask me if i could refrain from cursing.

I checked her real quick because honey if you weren't all in my business and doing your DAMN job, you would not have been all in my face trying to hustle me. I have children older than half of the staff there and seems to me like they don't take their job serious. It was super crowded and very hectic on a Saturday which I had never seen before. My children and I were there for over two hours. Why? Very unorganized and hectic environment . That was my first and last time taking my children there.

Too crazy in there and the wait was way too long. I will stick to the Sandy Springs location. At least that one is not a mad house and the front office staff doesn't judge you. (Mad House). Never again.

Dentistry for Kids in Dunwoody, GA was absolutely amazing from start to finish! The service was beyond excellent—the staff was kind, patient, and incredibly professional. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and taken care of. The waiting area was clean, cheerful, and kid-friendly, which helped my little ones feel at ease. We barely had to wait, and they were able to see both of my kids at the same time, which made things so convenient for us as parents.

The dentist explained everything clearly and made sure the kids were comfortable throughout the visit. We were in and out in no time, and both of my kids left smiling. I couldn’t be happier with the experience—we’ll definitely be back! - N. Walker

All the staff are so friendly, nice and always smile. I’ve been coming here ever since my older daughters was two or three years old and now she’s sixteen years old. Service is fast easy going in and out quick. They always ask if you have any questions or concerns about your kids teeth. Anyway my kids love this place!
