Detailed Introduction

Dentistry for Children is a brand that specializes in pediatric dentistry, offering a comprehensive range of dental services tailored specifically for the unique needs of infants, children, and adolescents. The brand emphasizes creating a welcoming, fun, and comfortable environment to help young patients feel at ease and foster a positive attitude towards dental care from an early age. This approach is crucial for building healthy oral hygiene habits that can last a lifetime. Their services typically include: Preventive Care: This is a cornerstone of their practice, encompassing routine dental checkups, professional cleanings, fluoride treatments to strengthen enamel, and dental sealants to protect molars from cavities. They also focus on educating children and parents about proper brushing and flossing techniques. Restorative Dentistry: For issues like cavities, they provide fillings. They also handle more complex restorative procedures such as dental crowns and pulp therapy (root canals for primary teeth) when necessary. Emergency Dental Care: Recognizing that dental emergencies can happen unexpectedly, many Dentistry for Children locations offer same-day consultations and appointments for urgent issues like chipped teeth, sudden pain, or dental trauma. Orthodontic Evaluations: While not always providing full orthodontic treatment, pediatric dentists at Dentistry for Children can identify early signs of orthodontic problems and may refer children to orthodontists for specialized care, sometimes even recommending early interventions like palatal expanders. Special Needs Dentistry: Many practices under the "Dentistry for Children" umbrella are equipped and experienced to provide care for children with special healthcare needs, adapting their approach to ensure comfort and effective treatment. Sedation Options: To help anxious children or for more extensive procedures, some locations offer various sedation options, including nitrous oxide ("laughing gas") and oral sedation, with some even providing in-clinic general sedation. The philosophy behind Dentistry for Children is rooted in understanding the developmental, behavioral, and emotional needs of young patients. Their offices are often designed with bright colors, toys, and entertainment to distract and engage children, making the dental visit a more enjoyable experience. The dental teams are trained to communicate with children in a way that is reassuring and easy to understand, explaining procedures step-by-step to alleviate fear. While "Dentistry for Children" appears to be a common name used by various pediatric dental practices across different states (e.g., in Georgia, Delaware, Missouri, and Minnesota), they all share the core mission of providing specialized, child-focused dental care. The website provided in the source content, https://www.dentistry4children.com, specifically points to a network of pediatric dental practices in Georgia, emphasizing a focus on "kid-focused care" and creating "fun, not fear." These practices aim to be a "dental home" for children from infancy through adolescence, monitoring their oral health and development, and intervening early to prevent more significant issues.

My son’s first time getting dental work! And they made this experience super easy, super quick and were EXTREMELY detailed in their explanations as to what they had to do and how they would do. Provided me and my son with a lot of comfort! HIGHLY recommend!

Front desk staff is amazing, but the dentist Dr. Arana is horrible. The negative reviews about her is true. My child was having tooth pain and she did not address the issue. She was rude, had a horrible bed side manner and did not want to answer any questions. We were rushed.

This place is ran like a factory. It’s not all her fault, I’m sure she has a quota that she has to make and gets bonuses for reaching them. They only have one dentist and she’s clearly overworked and burned out. Best of luck to her, but this office is not for my family, we will not be returning.

This was our second visit and I love how great the dentists and hygienists are with my child (4 y/o). My only gripe was that we were at this office for 2 hours which I think is absolutely ridiculous. I mean there were families that came in after us that were heading back and leaving all while we continued waiting in the waiting area. Our appointment was at 7:30 AM and we arrived 15 min early but had to wait in the car since they don’t open until 7:30 (which was fine).

They opened the doors about 3 minutes early and we all filed in. By the time we were finally seen to just get X-rays it was about 45 min but we still had to come back to the waiting room to wait additional time until a seat was available for him to get cleaned. Now if it was a matter of the cleaning taking longer because sometimes toddlers can’t keep still etc. that would be understandable… but that wasn’t the case.

We FINALLY left at 9:30 once we finished and checked out and it’s honestly unacceptable. I said something to the receptionist but by her reaction it was like oh well it happens sometimes. We’re going to give it another shot but we will have to find another practice if this is the norm, which I’m hoping this isn’t the case.

I tried this dentist out because of all the great reviews I’ve seen however my experience has been far from great!!!!! My first visit there I arrived at 1PM and did not leave until 4PM ! The office staff did thank me for my patience but THE ONLY reason I was patient is because they were dealing with my daughter’s teeth! They stated she needed two caps and 3 fillings which is fine, they gave me a dental plan and I set an appointment. Appoint day arrives (I was 15 minutes late which I called prior to) I was told she could no longer be seen due to me being late even though I WAITED 3 HOURS AFTER MY APPOINTMENT TIME THE APPOINTMENT PRIOR AND ALL THEY COULD DO WAS SAY THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE !!!! Okay I reschedule AGAIN we get to the appointment they say that can only do one side of her mouth because they don’t work on both sides in one day (I should have been made aware of this when the plan was given to me but again FINE do what you need to do) we schedule the NEXT APPOINTMENT as I’m parking my car I receive a call stating the dentist said she WOULD NOT work on my daughters teeth because she’s too young (she’s three btw and I thought this was a children’s dentist) I go in and state that’s not going to work for me and demanded something be done!! I was sent to another office about 15 minutes away in which they stated they talked with the dentist and was told she’d be able to be seen we just had to go right away, fine, we get there…. . wait….

. get called back…… the first thing they say “oh has anyone talked to you about sedation” I don’t want to put her through pain. Now mind you all the only thing she is getting done is a silver cap and 3 fillings. I tell the dentist I was told to come here because you could do the procedure he says okay well I’ll do the cap but she’ll have to come back for her fillings which at this point I’m like just do whatever all I want is my daughters teeth fixed.

They give her laughing gas, numb her mouth, as they were inserting a clear piece (which is only to ensure she keeps her mouth open not painful at all) she lets out a little whine. Yes this part was probably uncomfortable but not PAINFUL at all! He stops and says yeah this is just too painful for her she’s going to have to go and be sedated at our sedation center ! At this point I’m like WHAT THE FUCK because the most painful part is done and NOW YOU STOP ?!?!?! So here we are leaving AGAIN with my daughters mouth numbed and NO WORK DONE! At this point I will likely be finding another dentist because what I’ve been through with them is absurd and I would NOT RECOMMEND!
