Detailed Introduction

Dentistry for Children & Adolescents is a well-established pediatric dental clinic with a strong presence in Burnsville, MN, and additional locations in Edina and Eden Prairie. Since 1968, the practice has been dedicated to providing the highest standard of pediatric dental care for children from infancy through age 18, including those with diverse special needs. Their core philosophy revolves around creating a positive, comfortable, and even enjoyable dental experience for young patients, aiming to foster a lifetime of good oral hygiene habits and cavity-free smiles. The clinic distinguishes itself through several key aspects: Specialized Pediatric Care: All dentists at Dentistry for Children & Adolescents are highly trained pediatric specialists, equipped to address the unique developmental, behavioral, and treatment needs of children. They focus on preventive care, routine check-ups, cleanings, and more complex procedures, tailoring their approach to each child's individual requirements. Child-Friendly Environment: The practice is designed to minimize anxiety often associated with dental visits. Reviews consistently highlight the warm, welcoming, and engaging atmosphere, with staff explaining procedures in a child-friendly manner and allowing children to interact with dental tools to build trust. Advanced Technology: Dentistry for Children & Adolescents utilizes modern dental technology, notably Solea dental laser technology. This advanced laser treatment offers virtually pain-free, vibrationless, and noiseless procedures, often eliminating the need for traditional drills, thereby enhancing patient comfort. They also employ digital X-rays to reduce radiation exposure and environmental impact. Special Needs Dentistry: A significant area of expertise for the clinic is providing tailored care for children with special physical, developmental, behavioral, cognitive, or emotional healthcare needs. The team prides itself on its ability to care for these patients with utmost respect, patience, and specialized techniques. Commitment to Communication and Prevention: The clinic emphasizes open communication with both children and parents, explaining treatments thoroughly and providing education on proper home care. They strongly advocate for regular dental visits and preventive procedures to achieve long-term oral health. Eco-Conscious Practices: Dentistry for Children & Adolescents is a "GREEN PRACTICE CERTIFIED" facility. They incorporate sustainable materials and procedures, including digital X-rays (reducing chemical pollution and radiation), electronic patient records to minimize paper usage, steam sterilization, an in-house recycling program, and the use of hypochlorous acid (HOCL) as an air disinfectant. They also partner with vendors who contribute to environmental causes, having earned the Dental Sustainability Award multiple times for their reforestation efforts. Accessibility and Services: Beyond routine care, they offer services such as sedation options for anxious patients, emergency dental assistance, and treatments for specific conditions like tongue and lip ties. They work with various insurance plans and offer flexible hours, including Saturday appointments at some locations. Overall, Dentistry for Children & Adolescents is known for its compassionate, patient-centered approach, advanced techniques, and dedication to ensuring positive and effective dental experiences for all children.

They make my kids feel comfortable and safe. I don't feel like they are trying to rip me off and are extremely friendly.

We have been using them for years for 3 of my kids. Kevin started his dental journey refusing to open his mouth, the first exam was a long process and ultimately earned him a trip to the OR for sedated dental work. Now he walks in and participates in his exam. Izzy was in love with them from her first visit, even with a cavity or two.

The angsty teenager, Dani, has no complaints, but they've done well with her over the years. They meet you and your children at their level. The nice thing for us, they see how the kids are different and they work with that.

I was nervous going into the clinic since this was the very first time my son was going to the dentist. The staff was amazing. Nicole the dental hygienist was great.

She put my nerves at ease and she was making my toddler feel comfortable in the clinic. She explained everything in detail and didn’t rush us at all! The doctor answered all my questions and had great bed side manner. I’m happy I chose this clinic for my son! I don’t regret my decision at all

My husband and I took our 3.5 year and 1 year old to Dentistry for Children for their first dentist appointment and we were blown away. The waiting room was tidy and had fun/educational games and toys to keep both kids busy. All of the hygienists we interacted with were beyond amazing. I cannot say enough good things about this establishment and I highly recommend it for any and all kids!
