The hygienist and doctor I see here are great. The front desk personnel are incredibly rude and do not have any patient care skills. Josephine in particular is the most disrespectful receptionist I’ve ever had the displeasure of encountering. I’ve ignored her behavior up until now but with my last interaction with her, I had to say something.

She talks over you, is dismissive and out of her own mouth asked in a rude tone “what don’t you understand” when I asked to speak to my hygienist about services on my chart. When I brought this to the office manager, Jeanie she was dismissive and “confused” while Josephine smirked and snickered at her desk. Jeanie continuing to sit there while her employee acted in a disrespectful manner to a paying patient AGAIN IN FRONT OF HER tells me all I need to know about this office. UPDATE: I received an automated reply as soon as I uploaded my review, which I see is posted under every review expressing concerns.

You would think that if a business actually cared about their customers, they'd be the ones to pick up the phone or issue some sort of an apology, regardless of if they believe they're at fault or not. I was going to leave it at my initial review because I've already decided to take my business elsewhere but then I got a letter from one of the doctors (who I have not even spoken too nor seen since Fall 2024 and was not involved) "requesting" that I choose another provider since they don't think a "mutually trusting or beneficial relationship" exist (why would anyone return to an establishment after rating it one star is beyond me). But I must say, this is very telling in how this business receives feedback.

Ning Shao

I did a general examination today. Dr. Chelssia Thomas and hygienists are very professional. I'm an amateur but with their detailed explanation, I have a good grasp of the conditions of my teeth now. Sandra and Jo are very helpful and informative. I'm usually scared of seeing a dentist but here I feel lower levels of pressure and anxiety. Anyway, I really recommend this provider.

The dentists are good and professional, but the office staff is incredibly rude and shady. They ramble off what they want you to think is being charged and then have you sign on a pad without reading the text they have on the screen. My insurance was billed for multiple procedures that were never done, but the paperwork they gave says I signed for it.

On subsequent appointments, I asked to read the form I was signing, and they quickly scrolled through, saying, “It’s what I TOLD you was being done!” They are billing insurance fraudulently and should be investigated.

I've been coming to Dentist of Silver Spring for three years now, and I can't recommend them enough. Cherie is the only person I trust to touch my mouth. She's incredibly thorough, always asks the right questions, and truly listens. She is extremely patient and helps you understand the process. My oral hygiene has tremendously increased and its due to the tips she provided. At my most recent appointment, I met Dr. Gillin for the first time.

His examination after Cherie’s cleaning was superb. He took his time to double-check everything and made sure I was in great shape. You can tell he cares. I had some not so good experiences with the front desk staff but my recent experience was pleasant. Be sure to ask questions and check over any billing.
