**Update** The office reached out and let me know that the charges are being waived. This was the right thing to do. Original Post: This place will nickel and dime your pocket! I went in for a new patient appointment earlier this week and was pleased with my cleaning but very disappointed in my bill. During my cleaning I was recommended several X-rays and was assured that my insurance was reviewed before the appointment and they were aware of what was covered. During my appointment it was mentioned that I had a little bit of plaque build up on one of my teeth and needed to angle my brush a little bit in the back while brushing.

I was charged $10 for “oral hygiene instructions”which wasn’t covered by insurance! I’m 34 and in good dental health, I can’t believe that was even billed. While making small talk with the hygienist I mentioned that I have an infant in the house so I have been drinking a lot of coffee recently. Unsolicited, the hygienist told me to take sips of water between coffee to reduce possible staining. I was charged another $10 for “nutritional counseling”!! Again, not covered by insurance. All told, I received a $30 bill for a standard cleaning.

Ive had the same insurance for 10 years and have never received a bill elsewhere. The office told me insurance requires them to bill the patient for each billable procedure while sitting in the chair. Give me a break! I do not recommend this office and if you are a patient there, do not make small talk or you might be racking up a bill. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere!!!

The staff gets to know you on a personal level and I've never had such a personal connection with a business. Please do yourself a favor and if you haven't given them a chance yet, please do so. I promise you won't be dissapointed!

I have been going to Dexter Dental Studio for over 15 years. The dentists are professional and caring, and the staff is phenomenal! They take good care of me and my daughters. I would highly recommend them. Especially if you have kids. They always take extra good care of the kids to educate and make them feel comfortable.
