I have been going to Dr. Hogan and her team for years. They do an amazing job! My teeth feel spectacular after every cleaning. If there are any procedures that need do be done they explain them in a way that is easy to understand. Highly recommend them if you're in search of a great dentist office!

It's always a gamble when you are trying a new dentist. We moved to the area a couple of years ago and needed a dentist badly. We took a chance on dh Dental based on the reviews. We were happy with the kind, caring staff and they gentle work they did. Overall, they did an excellent job. Would definitely recommend.

Just to preface this, if anyone reading has in-network insurance and is looking for a new dentist, feel free to ignore the rest of the review; I fully recommend dh. I experienced nothing but quality care and treatment the two times I have been seen. That said, I am upset and disappointed after having just attempted to schedule an appointment for a routine exam. I was willing to pay cash and was having no problem setting up the appointment until I mentioned that I had state provided dental insurance. I was told it was out of network at my last appointment, but since it had been a couple years, I thought the situation might have changed.

I was transferred to someone else and as soon as they realized I was talking about state insurance, they hung up. I called back since I thought they just forgot to transfer me back to scheduling, but when I got through, I was basically told that they have a personal policy where they don't allow people with state insurance to pay cash because I might make a claim against the insurance and that would be considered "fraud". As I am disabled, the state requires that I have this insurance. I understand that it doesn't pay well and I get that is why most dental offices refuse new patients who have it. But to be told that I am essentially trying to commit fraud by being willing to pay ($250!) out of my own pocket is completely dehumanizing and a ridiculous policy.

I recommend to anyone in a similar position, if you want to be seen for cash, do not, under any circumstances, mention that you have state insurance. As far as I can tell, there is nothing stating that I can't pay out of pocket for an out of network visit.
