I don’t often write negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my recent experience to help others make an informed decision. I’m a 50-year-old professional with a business background, and I understand the value of honesty and transparency - qualities I expected from my dentist’s office, but sadly did not find. When I first chose this practice, I noticed dozens of glowing reviews all coming from accounts that had written maybe one or two other reviews. It struck me as odd, so I did a little digging and found several clues that those testimonials were likely paid for or otherwise incentivized. I’m not accusing lightly; it’s simply the pattern you see when every review is four or five stars, yet the accounts show no other activity. For someone who believes in genuine feedback, that rang alarm bells right away. My own experience confirmed my suspicions.

I switched insurance plans and emailed the office to be sure they accepted my new coverage well before my scheduled cleaning. I never heard back, so I assumed they were still processing insurance changes and opted not to confirm my appointment. When I didn’t show up, I was surprised - actually, dismayed - to receive a bill for a missed appointment. After all, I had actively tried to clarify my insurance situation. There was no follow-up call or email asking if I intended to keep the appointment; there was just a flat fee for not showing up. In my 30-plus years of paying for healthcare services, I’ve never been charged for a missed dental visit without some courtesy reminder or clarification, especially when insurance questions are involved. Charging a fee under these circumstances felt more like a last-ditch profit grab than a reasonable policy.

To me, this indicates two things: first, their practice seems more concerned with collecting every possible dollar than providing straightforward patient care. Second, it corroborates my belief that those five-star reviews are a façade. A practice confident in its work wouldn’t need to resort to buying praise or nickel-and-diming patients. Instead, they’d rely on true word-of-mouth and clear communication. I write this not to shame, but to caution: if you’re considering this dentist, be aware of the murky review situation and their inflexible no-show policy tied to insurance confusion. I regret not seeing the warning signs earlier - maybe this note will help you make a more informed choice.

Dr. Douglas Kardynal is the best!! I am a very fearful patient and he is so gentle and has such a calming spirit that he totally puts me at ease. In addition, I love Denise the hygienist! She is very light handed but very through. I highly recommend them!

My actual dentist was out of town and Dr Kardynal’s office was recommended for my dental issue that could not wait. I called and was able to get in the next morning. The staff including Dr Kardynal were wonderful, helpful and made me feel at ease. I highly recommend this practice!
