My children have been coming here for almost 10 years . I was always able to go to the back with them for cleaning or whatever else that was needed. Today I was told I had to sit in the waiting room while my children go to the back and the doctor will be out to talk to me once done. That just doesn’t sit right with me. Why can’t I see the process ? What exactly are you doing to these children that it has to be a secret?. After making my review under my google name not my real name.
I was told that my review was seen, due to my children being older I would have to follow the procedure and that this will be their last appointment because my post shows distrust in them. While my children were in the back the hygienist talked about me in front of my children. (Saying I had an attitude and that she is just doing her job). I asked for my children records they gave me 4 sheets of paper. Go somewhere else!!

This is the best pediatric dental office I've taken my children too. They have been coming for the last few years and will continue until they are forced to go to the adult dentist. Dr. Amy Parker is the best, so professional, knowledgeable, and kind.
Dr. Megan Dougherty is also very professional, excellent bedside manners, very informative, and she has a way with children that makes them like going to the dentist. The hygienists and other office staff that I have encountered have all been amazing. The wait time is minimal which I can appreciate! Highly recommended

The experience that I am about to describe from a year ago, has caused my family and I serious trama in the dentistry world. I am having a difficult time with my son receiving dental treatment due to this office causing my child Dental Trauma. If I could rate this experience, it would be zero stars. Dr. Amy's office policies and staff need’s a serious reevaluation. Their policy of not allowing parents in the back with their children is unacceptable. On March 11, 2024, my 5-year-old son needed three teeth repairs, requiring oral sedation consisting of two oral medicines and nitrous oxide. However, the atmosphere in the office was far from child friendly. While waiting for the oral medicine, I overheard an adult staff member speaking impatiently to a child about turning their head in a certain direction, displaying a lack of empathy and connection with the child. Prior to the hygienist assistant administering the oral medicine to my child, the office manager explained to me that my child would not fall asleep, however he would be relaxed, drowsy, and she even used the term loopy. Once the hygienist assistant administered the oral medicine to my son, I asked how long it would take to take effect. Despite being told 30 minutes, my son remained his normal active self, contrary to their assurances of him being drowsy, relaxed or loopy. Upon my child’s entrance to the back, I asked to attend with him, which they allowed temporarily. After asking him to use the rest room, my son was immediately strapped to a papoose board, where he waited for about 10 minutes while Dr.
Daughtery attended to other matters. The assistant even left the room for about 5 minutes, leaving my son unattended, while still strapped to the papoose board, which was alarming. Although, she was not far, my son was NOT in eyesight of ANY medical personnel while waiting for Dr. Daughtery and strapped down. The papoose board did not appear to be mounted to the dentist chair, which could cause my son to fall out of the chair while strapped, and or choke while laying on his back. My son became restless, prompting me to request for him to be unstrapped while waiting. Despite my polite request, the assistant hesitated to unstrap him fully, and asked him could she leave his arms still strapped down, which I politely declined and continued to ask for him to be unstrapped completely where he was able to sit up while waiting for Dr. Daughtery. When she finally arrived, I was denied the opportunity to stay with my son, and he was immediately restrained again. Despite expressing my concerns about the oral medicine's efficacy, Dr. Daughtery seemed to dismiss my concerns, because she claimed it would take full effect after administering laughing gas. As I waited in the lobby, I heard my son screaming loudly and uncontrollably, prompting me to request that the receptionist inform her that I would like the procedure to be terminated. Despite the dentist claiming the procedure was complete, my son was still screaming and strapped to the board when I returned. I expressed my frustration and how unhappy I was regarding the events of this appointment.
I reiterated that the medicine was ineffective, and his state of screaming and hollering did not coincide with the information that he would be relaxed, drowsy, and or loopy. Dr. Daughtery proceeded to pull out a sheet of paper that I had signed about the oral sedation. The dentist's condescending attitude and refusal to acknowledge my concerns were frustrating. She spoke to me as if I was incompetent and lacked comprehension. When I asked to speak with Dr. Amy Parker, I was informed she would be unavailable for a month. Although the office manager was more professional, we couldn't resolve the issues. My son experience at the is office was very traumatic. This dental office is not suitable for hands-on parents, as no child, especially one undergoing sedation, should be without their parent present. If anything happens to your child, it's their word against a sedated child's word. This was our last visit to this office.

Contrary to recent reviews, Dr. Amy Parker and associates, especially Dr. Daughtery, have been exceptional.
The care and concern they have displayed to my daughter and other children while I was there has been nothing but top notch! They take the time to thoroughly explain the procedures they are performing and subsequent follow up care. I wouldn’t trust any one else with my precious baby; there’s a reason they have been a staple in the community for over 40 years.
