Just had gum surgery 24 hrs ago at Dr. Lloyd Hoffman`s practice in Richmond Hill. I have to say that the freezing and the surgery was much less painful than taking out a sliver from my finger. I don`t want to say that it was a great experience, but he sure put me at ease. It did not feel like a surgery … it was finished in no time. I had two bottom and two upper teeth done at the same time. I have had gum surgery in the past using synthetics before which did not last. This time, material from my palette was used. I have had root canals, implants, and teeth fillings before and lots and lots of freezing but nothing as gentle as my last experience with Dr. Hoffman.
I found him through review sites and that is why I fell compelled to write. If not for the reviews, I would not have known about him. I searched the Web for a periodontist that does gum surgeries which is not easy to find. From my house, Dr. Hoffman`s office is a 1. 5 to 2. 5 hours drive depending on traffic. It is worth it. Yes, his staff is courteous, professional and will go out of their way to make sure that the end goal is met. Parking is a plus (also posted on dr's website).
Update: (about 3 years ago I wrote the above) Now 2024, had a routine checkup with Dr. Lloyd Hoffman today. My last surgery with Dr. Hoffman was 3 years ago but I still see him for check-ups (my choice) because he has done for me what no other person could. Thanks to him I still have my teeth instead of implants. I kid you not. The gum surgery that he did is still amazing and the gums that were not in the critical stage have been maintain or have gotten better. This of course is thanks to his staff for follow up on proper gum care techniques that is right for me in specific areas. Thank you.

Dr. Hoffman is the best in what he does. I am finishing my 3d implant with him and each is a great job. He is supper carrying, calls after surgery and his staff also are amazing. I love these guys. I would recommend 10 stars.
I found him myself searching on web after another doctor's job was done bad and my teeth fell off. Dr. Hoffman takes challenges and does great job. He is passionate for what he does. A rare find!

Best Ever and Amazing DENTIST you will ever find!! All I can express and say relentlessly, it was the BEST experience I've ever had and couldn't have imagined the stellar dental service done!!! This compliments the most caring and amazing Dr. Hoffman and his caring team of staff! I've had two extractions performed at the same time, and within an hour or so, all was completed graciously with NO PAIN, NO FUSS, Dr. Hoffman have performed the extractions with superior ease!! From beginning of the consultation, to preparing me before date of the surgery, and to the day of the surgery, Dr.
Hoffman provided EXCEPTIONAL patience, guidance, honest opinions & suggestions, care before and after the surgery which NO dentist have ever done! However, I must also give credit to my AMAZING dentist too, Dr. Winston Law for referring me to Dr. Hoffman, otherwise I don't think I would or could have survived this ordeal!! Guarantee 1000X, you will be in the BEST AND CARING HANDS!!! It is well worth it and I would have my family and myself see Dr.
Hoffman for any other required dental services!! Thank you Dr. Hoffman, you are truly the Best!!

Had Extraction & Dental Implants by Dr Hoffman Excellent communication - explained the process & specific case concerns with pictures & video. - Took his time answering all questions - Front desk staff very nice and friendly - Dr Hoffman called me personally after surgery to ensure there were no complications Efficient appointments - does not overbook and make you wait - ample free parking - appointment reminders by text All work + follow ups completed without a hitch. Its possible that I may have a high pain tolerance, but I did not experience any pain (zero) during entire process. No exaggeration.
I was very surprised with this The only component that was a bit uncomfortable was some light hammering Dr Hoffman was very friendly & engaging with me. I highly recommend Dr Hoffman for dental implants.
