I recently had an appointment for my 14 year old and he waited for 2 hours for a prophet cleaning which is a regular cleaning that takes 15 minutes to do. I then asked the office manager at the front desk how much longer because he's been waiting. She replied " there is two Deep cleanings in front of him and then he can be seen". I was a dental assistant for 10 years and can tell you that those cleanings take 30 min to 1 hr depending if your cleaning ½ of a mouth or a whole mouth.

I was really upset because that means my son would have to wait at least 1 more hour to get his prophy cleaning and sill try to make it to school before the day is at its end. The office manager was saying they are behind schedule and couldn't move his appointment in front of anyones but he can schedule to go back another day although it would be a month out. At this point I'm really upset now because my son wears braces and had to take his wires off for this appointment and this is all she could do? I have a crazy work schedule where I'm very lucky to get that day to take my son to his appointment and all she needed to do was schedule these cleanings better. In the past when I worked in the field I used to schedule the cleaning appointments and everyone knew not to schedule a prophylactic cleaning(regular cleaning) behind a Scaling and root planning (SRP- deep cleaning) because of the time lenghtly time that cleaning takes.

So in the end the young lady (office manager) had an attitude with me and told me that my son would not be seen in that office at all. Her voice sounding professional and proper when talking to patients doesn't change the actual words she is expressing to the patient and how everything she communicated was disrespectful and an unprofecially way to handle business. Have more consideration for people's time and understand that its not fair to have a patient waiting for hour's to be seen.

Walter young is a very knowledgeable dentist but he is too old to be working now. He does get cranky and rude with patients. I went many yrs ago for a cleaning and his assistant was very nice but he began to do my cleaning and he was not gentle at all. He didn't let the numbing gel kick in so I wouldn't feel pain, he began like 5secs after and I felt the sharp object on my gums and everything. It hurt so bad, my gums were bleeding. He told me its from gum disease and afterwards he gave me a prescription and a rinse to take for it.

They could pull my medicaid up and he got mad and was like "Oh just bill her, she don't have no money". Very rude. I was supposed to go back for my bottom cleaning and just went somewhere else. I was all for supporting a civil rights leader but Walter needs to retire. Love Andrew though.

Dr. Young has to be the most inconsiderate, negligent & unprofessional dentist I’ve ever encountered. My first visit was fine. A month later I came in with a toothache. With less than 10 seconds of looking at the tooth & glancing at my X-ray from my first visit he said it was because I had a food trap & I didn’t know how to brush or floss correctly.

He then said he wouldn’t do anything else until the hygienist cleaned my teeth, which meant I had to take another day off. The next day I came in, the hygienist said she found no such problems & referred me to a specialist. I went to the specialist & he told me I had a cracked tooth beyond repair & I needed to extract it (someone else I think is scamming people). I then went back to Young to ask him if he could have possibly missed the crack & he began raising his voice & cutting me off when I tried to explain what the specialist told me. He told me that he didn’t want to hear anything I had to say until he had something in writing from the specialist & told me I need to find another dentist.

This was with him raising his voice at me in front of the entire staff & clients in the front. I said thank you to the front staff & left immediately. I patronize Black businesses, but not if it’s with someone scamming people for money & being disrespectful & crass.

1st ever Visit to any Dentist. I was nervous because of all the unknowns, but the friendliness, professionalism, and amazing customer service of the staff made me relax. Dr. Okeke took great care of me, explaining everything to me before proceeding. The whole experience wonderful. I'm definitely recommending them to my family and friends.
