I was scheduled for a consultation for a possible root canal. All the staff was amazing- friendly, polite, knowledgeable and helpful! After determining the issue, options were discussed and we were able to proceed with a root canal. After lots of work in my mouth since childhood, I have always dreaded having anything done. I can honestly say this experience was the opposite of what I planned for.
It was PAIN FREE, fast and easy. I would highly recommend and will return for any additional higher level work that my regular dentist isn’t able to provide.

I had my root canal procedure done at their Naperville office on 5/13/2025. 1. Irresponsible/ no communication – On 5/6/2025, I called the office to make an appointment on 5/13, provided them with my insurance information, and asked for a cost estimate. Front desk said they utilize third-party verification to verify my insurance (never thought this was a thing for dental office but that’s what I heard) and cost estimate will be sent to my email inbox within 48 hours. On 5/8 afternoon, I called again for the cost estimate. Front desk said they/ third-party were still working on it, and it should be ready by 5/9 Friday. Nonetheless, I didn’t hear from this office by 5/9 Friday or call them since then. I decided to go for my appointment on 5/13 without hearing from them because I checked with my insurance, and I knew the office was in the network. Upon arrival, front desk checked me in and immediately said they are in the network but couldn’t verify my information.
She was irresponsible as she could’ve called me about this prior to my appointment. From 5/8 to 5/13, there was no communication at all from the front desk and the office about my insurance information couldn’t be verified. 2. Wasting patient’s time - It took the front desk more than 40 minutes to verify my information after I’d arrived at their office. My appointment started at 1pm, I left the office at around 3:50pm. 3 hours for a root canal procedure plus time for insurance verification. 3. Unethical? / Nonstandard practice? - staff admitted me for various examinations while front desk was still in the process of verifying my insurance information, without informing me about any exams needed/ charges beforehand. I cooperated with their examinations without having the charge estimates only because I knew their office was in the network and I had a platinum dental plan with high allowed amount annually.
4. Unprofessional - Front desk mishandled billing and charged me more than I was supposed to pay out-of-pocket. I vaguely remembered that my insurance plan covers 100% for root canal procedure, code D3330. But the front desk checked me out charging me out-of-pocket about 24% of the procedure cost. Once I got home, I double checked with my insurance policy and confirmed that my insurance plan covered 100% of the root canal cost. I immediately called the office and asked for a refund. Imagine a patient who was nervous about having a root canal procedure and had to deal with all the unpleasant experience before, during, and after the procedure, especially when your mouth was still numb and had difficulties talking, but had to call them to correct the billing. I over trusted their professionalism!

AMAZING!! If you have dental anxiety - have no fear with Elite Dental Specialists! The entire staff from making my appointment to reception when I arrived, the tech who did my X-ray, to the INCREDIBLE tech/nurse Marie who was so unbelievably kind, informative and patient —- the fantastic, gentle and calming Dr. Bertrand… I had zero pain or discomfort.
She explained everything and was so great through the entire process!! I have significant dental anxiety and they eased every moment of it! I cannot say thank you enough to this incredible staff!!
