Detailed Introduction

Endodontic Associates, located at 1434 E 4500 S #201, Holladay, UT 84117, is a dental practice specifically dedicated to endodontics, a branch of dentistry focusing on the dental pulp and surrounding tissues of the tooth. Their primary goal is to save natural teeth whenever possible, preventing the need for extractions and alternative solutions like implants or bridges. The practice prides itself on providing a high standard of care, emphasizing patient comfort and utilizing advanced technology. This includes the use of surgical microscopes for enhanced precision, Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) for detailed diagnostic imaging, and digital radiography. These technologies contribute to more accurate diagnoses, efficient treatments, and improved patient outcomes. Endodontic Associates offers a comprehensive range of endodontic services, including: Root Canal Therapy: The most common procedure, designed to treat infected or inflamed tooth pulp, relieve pain, and save the natural tooth. Endodontic Retreatment: Addressing teeth that have had previous root canal treatment but have failed to heal or have developed new problems. This involves reopening the tooth, removing old filling material, and re-treating the root canals. Endodontic Surgery (Apicoectomy): For more complex cases where conventional root canal therapy isn't sufficient. This surgical procedure involves removing the infected root tip and surrounding inflamed tissue. Management of Traumatic Dental Injuries: Addressing teeth that have been damaged due to accidents or sports-related injuries, which can include fractures, cracks, or luxation. Treatment of Cracked Teeth: Diagnosing and treating various types of tooth cracks, which can cause pain with chewing or temperature sensitivity. The team at Endodontic Associates is composed of highly trained and experienced endodontic specialists, such as Dr. Matthew Parkin, who are committed to delivering empathetic and personalized care. Their mission often revolves around making the patient experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible, recognizing that root canal procedures can sometimes be intimidating. They work closely with referring general dentists to ensure seamless and coordinated patient care. The practice operates with a strong focus on honesty, transparency, and a commitment to continuous education and staying abreast of the latest advancements in endodontic science.

Had 2 different dentists refer me to this practice and I was very pleased with the straightforward, no nonsense approach to my treatment options. I didn't feel like they were pushing me to spend money there, but to make sure I had all of the information needed to make an educated decision for me. Highly recommend

I saw Dr Nielsen yesterday for a re-treatment on tooth #20 which was also an abundment on my bridge. It has been hurting for months, but of course I kept putting it off. He was able to save my tooth, it was full of infection; which he skillfully & patiently dug out. I am amazed how skillful he is. I felt no pain during the procedure.

After the numbness wore out, I have felt no pain. No soreness at all. This office is very professional in the services they offer. Everyone there was very pleasant. I would recommend, if you need an endodontist, check him out Have a pleasant day! 💋

Dr. Nelson did a root canal on my wife’s number 18 molar in February. We made him aware that her mom (and likely she) has a rare fourth nerve on a root canal instead of the standard three. We brought this up to him and he acted confident that this wouldn’t be an issue. We went with his recommendation and proceeded.

Two months later she still has an infection, on antibiotics round the clock, extreme tooth pain. She has a high pain tolerance but I kept bugging her to call and tell him that he probably missed the fourth nerve. Now month of April, Emergency root canal was now done free of charge to get the original problem. Great staff but I wish they would be willing to listen to patients that have a genetic (albeit rare) condition. Just frustrating to deal with all the antibiotics cost, leading to all the other gut and yeast infections that antibiotics bring all from a endodontist that “has been around the block”.

Total out of pocket cost was $1400 or so plus the few hundred in monistat and antibiotics. Just feel bad for her pain and suffering for months and months. Doctor took care of it April and admitted he missed it and took X-rays. Hopefully not a long recovery road ahead. ❤️‍🩹

Times have changed. . . for the better since I last had a root canal!! Dr. Neilson had me all done in 34 minutes and he said mine was a more difficult root canal?! Crazy!! Staff were friendly, nice office and relaxing views. I run hot and like to have air flow.

There was even a fan in the room. I felt at ease and comfortable when Doc came in and introduced himself. We discussed my tooth and he went to work. I would definitely recommend Endodontic Associates and Dr. Nielsen.
