I have been a patient of Family Dental of Bel Air and recently I decided to discontinue receiving service at this establishment because of the unprofessionalism and how some of the people at the front desk have no disregard when they have to reschedule or cancel ypour appointment. Mind you, I have had three separate instances where my appointments have been cancelled the day of my appointment which means there is not time to make changes and try to get to work in Washington, DC. In all three instances I took time of work (3*8 hours=24 hours). I returned the call and Nicole answered the phone. I was trying to explain that this happened a couple times before and I loose days from work but before I could finish speaking", she said the doctor called out sick with the flu ,and there is nothing we can do there are no doctors here today, What do you want to do?" I decided to drive to the location and request my documents to take my business elsewhere. When I arrived there was a patient in the waiting room waiting for care and other patience trickling in. Another gentleman showed up for his appointment and was told they tried calling to cancel his appointment.

The gentleman checked his phone and noted there were no phone calls from anypone at Family Dental of Bel Air. I requested my dental records and try to explain again to the person (Nicole) that this happened so many times before. Another from desk lady, her name is Tami raised her voice and tried to agrue with me as if to escalate the situation. I told her I am not trying to argue with her, I need them to express some sympathy since this has happened three time before and I lost three days of work because of them rescheduling all the time. She was not getting it. I would recommend that these front desk employees take some soft skills training since they are working in the service industry. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

This is the last straw. I work hard for my money so I can take my services elsewhere. Might I suggest a process improvement- whenever patients do not show up their appointments and do not cancel 24 hours prior, some establishments charge a service charge, so whenever you the service provider decide to inconvenience patients and cancel the same day, you should take responsibility. Maybe set up an automated system and notify patients within 24 hours, especially when this appears to be a regular occurrence.

Don’t go there!! Unbelievable! I had a really bad tooth, called made an appointment, they knew what my insurance was, as that was the first question they asked and then it took a week to get in there knowing full well I had a bad tooth that was very painful and called me 24 hours prior to my visit they called me and said we don’t take your insurance you have to pay out of pocket. So I show up to my appointment and they took upon themselves to cancel it! REALLY! Who does that! So here I’m with my bad tooth a week later with no results.

Thanks for nothing. Don’t go to this dentist!! They suck!

I recently visited Family Dental and had an exceptional experience from start to finish. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and I was immediately welcomed by a friendly and professional team. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the tone for a truly positive visit. Now let me tell you about my five-star dental hygiene appointment! I had the pleasure of being seen by Carmen, who was absolutely outstanding. She was incredibly polite, kind, and knowledgeable. Carmen took the time to understand my dental history, answered all of my questions thoroughly, and handled everything with remarkable care and attention to detail. Her gentle and diligent approach made the entire process comfortable and stress-free. My interaction with Dr.

Strapp, my dentist, was equally impressive. She was poised, professional, and exceptionally well-informed. Dr. Strapp took the time to explain everything clearly, and I felt completely confident in the care I was receiving. This was my first visit to Family Dental after having gone to another office for the past four years. I had to make a change due to insurance coverage, and I was initially a bit apprehensive. However, I left this appointment feeling reassured and even uplifted. As someone who has had extensive dental work over the last five years, dental visits have often come with a bit of anxiety.

But this visit exceeded my expectations in every way. The news I received was positive, with only a few minor areas to monitor going forward. I walked out feeling as though I had just left a dental spa—and that feeling was entirely thanks to the incredible service and care I received. Thank you to Carmen, Dr. Strapp, and the entire team at Family Dental for making my first experience such a memorable one. I’m genuinely looking forward to my next visit!

Nice clean offices, I did not wait long, everything was a smooth process, the staff were friendly. The dental hygienist did not poke me in the gums thankfully and she was precise and thorough. The dentist was nice and seemed knowledgeable and took time out to answer questions and explain her process. It was an amazing experience. I am glad I found them.
