As a new patient they were able to “get me in quickly” with a new patient appointment which turned out to be x-rays and the dentist giving me feedback on how my teeth looked, it was not a cleaning. They said they would schedule the cleaning a separate time since x-rays would take a long time. The thing was that when I went to the desk after my first new patient appointment to schedule the second appointment for the actual cleaning there were no available afternoon spots for a few months. It turned out they were not able to clean my teeth any sooner than other places I checked with.

I know someone who told me afterwards that the same thing happened to them and it was tricky with their insurance because it was technically two different visits. Just want to let people know to clarify this if you are a new patient and ask about date options for BOTH appointments if they want you to do an extra new patient appointment. That way you’ll have an accurate view of how long it will take you to have an actual teeth cleaning. Also, on the phone they told me they take HMO plans, but after I had submitted my intake forms in the office and had gone back for my first xray appointment they told me they do not take HMO plans, oops not sure how that happened.

Thankfully it worked out for me, but wouldn’t want that to happen to others, so be sure to extra clarify that! Overall the people were kind, the hygienist was careful that I was comfortable and the place seemed busy. The location is easy to get to and has lots of parking. A bit more tidiness, especially from the vantage point of standing at the front desk would be beneficial for the esthetics:). While I was there, the music was pop radio including commercials, if that matters to you in a dentist experience!

I was so sad to learn a while back that Dr. Steve was no longer practicing, but I’m seeing Dr. Rose now and she’s fantastic! She and her assistant (if I remember correctly, her name is Jenny) are so nice and thoughtful. They take their time, explain everything, and are very gentle.

They work extremely well together. Everyone at the office has been friendly and considerate. I absolutely recommend Family First.
