The receptionist was so friendly and helpful. She got my husband in for a quick cleaning and exam because of mouth pain that he had been in, then after they found out he needed a root canal, made sure he got that done the same day (though it was at a different office). They went above and beyond and made sure that we were taken care of. They will have my business from now on.

My experience with Dr. Dustin J. Farris, DMD's office, particularly regarding billing, has left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. In the latter part of 2023, I underwent a series of dental procedures, including the installation of crowns. During this time, I was informed that my insurance would likely cover one crown, leaving me with an out-of-pocket expense of $5000. Despite initial concerns, I was reassured by the staff that this was the case, and I proceeded with the treatment. After returning for the procedure and the installation of temporaries, I was once again assured that everything was in order and that I owed nothing more. Satisfied with the service, I left with a positive experience. However, on January 15th, 2024, I received an unexpected text message stating that I owed an additional $1979. 80, accompanied by a picture of an outstanding bill. My attempts to seek clarification went unanswered, leaving me confused and concerned. Subsequent messages on January 22nd and 23rd also went unanswered, despite my clear inquiries about the sudden change in billing.
It was disheartening to receive no response or acknowledgment from the office. On February 9th, I received yet another automated text message with no follow-up communication. Frustrated, I left a detailed message for the office, only to receive no callback. Finally, on February 14th, I spoke with the receptionist and accounting department. While the conversation was initially cordial, it quickly turned defensive when I questioned the sudden billing changes. The receptionist cited a "new system" and apologized, blaming insurance for not covering the expected amount. However, her defensive tone and reluctance to address the communication breakdown only exacerbated the situation. While I believe that the staff at Dr. Dustin J. Farris, DMD's office are good people, their billing and communication systems are clearly lacking. I am deeply concerned about the impact of such surprises on young families or individuals living month-to-month. Although I'm content with the quality of the dental treatment, I hesitate to endorse the practice to others.
Furthermore, I must delay additional dental procedures that I had intended to prioritize over the completed work. Ultimately, it's crucial to ensure affordability and obtain written confirmation of your precise financial responsibility, rather than relying solely on estimates Response: I totally understand insurance and the limitations you have. I have had many health and dental claims over the years and have ran into estimates being off. This is why I continued to ask, 3 times, if we were good as I do understand that. I should have just asked for it in writing versus taking her word for it. She was just so nice hard no to trust. It just stinks because I truly thought I had found my dental office. Anyways, I felt like the response lacked the depth of the concern, so I felt the need to edit. Truly feel the best way to communicate concerns and insurance short comings is by phone versus text messages.
