I started going to Five Star Dentistry in 2020 and was really happy with Dr. Boak. Since his retirement, however, new ownership has completely changed the practice for the worse. I wouldn't recommend Five Star Dentistry.

The new management really did a number on this place. Ever since management changed it’s been awful. The staff is rude & unhelpful. The cavity I had filled was not filed down & polished correctly that I had to go somewhere else to fix it. Years ago I loved it here & everyone was so kind & welcoming but that is not the case anymore. I definitely would stay away from here!

Schedule my dad’s appointment a month in advance. Received multiple texts with correct time and date. A couple days before appointment I got a voicemail saying it was scheduled for 8. Original time was 9. Called in and they were unwilling to help fix their issue. Attached is texts with correct time.

Five star dentistry? More like 0 stars. I have NEVER had such a horrible experience in any sort of healthcare facility in my life. 1. I came in for my scheduled exam AND cleaning, and was only given the exam and was lied to by the doctor who told me “they never did those on the same day. ” (I know others who go here who have confirmed they have received both a cleaning and exam in the same visit, as you do for any normal visit). During the exam I was told I had 3 cavities which seemed unlikely given nothing of that sort has ever happened, which then led to scheduling a third meeting which was the precipice of bad bedside manner.

2. After the first appointment I was then told my insurance didn’t cover an exam, which I knew was untrue as I had just signed up for my yearly insurance that week. After pushing back “they had found it,” and I wouldn’t be charged for my exam. 3. At the second visit, the hygienists or whoever was filling “the cavities” were rude and unprofessional. A block was put in my mouth to keep my mouth opening during the procedure and I kept getting told to “keep my mouth open” even though they had put in the block for that exact reason… and kept telling other people at the office that I “had anxiety” even though multiple times I expressed I was just uncomfortable with three people drilling into my mouth at once.

4. Lastly, they didn’t fully clean off the polish on my teeth three times after me asking for them just to clean it up before I left, which led to one of the people calling in someone else saying “they couldn’t do this anymore. ” Overall, I cannot recommend NOT going here enough. I don’t have one positive thing to say about coming here. After one exam and cleaning I have gone and found another dentistry practice with better bedside manner, and a more comfortable environment.
