My daughter suffers from severe anxiety about going to the dentist. Dr. Somefun has been wonderful with her.

Completely unprofessional, rude. We have a child with a genetic dental condition that is causing suffering, we thought a plan of action was in place for an oral surgery. We went for the pre-op appointment and were sprung with thousands of dollars being requested THAT MOMENT in order to continue with the surgery in under two weeks. We were not prepared for this and the nurse told us "you should have been told at the last appointment, I should have told you on the phone but I thought they already did. " Not only that but the line of care we were told she would need vs what they were saying in the pre-op appointment was wildly different, they were now saying they wanted to do several root canals on our toddler instead of just a couple caps. That if we had any questions about surgery or healing the time to ask them would be the day of. This is absolutely unacceptable to keep our family in the dark about our toddlers medical care until the day of a potentially risky surgery. Not only that but when we called insurance to check pricing Fun Park had this all coded as cosmetic and not as the genetic condition she suffers from, despite that they were fully aware of her condition to code it properly. Later in the day after the pre-op appointment Dr. Somefun called me and when I told him I could barely hear him he hung up on me abruptly.

Called me back to tell me he didn't hang up on me and that he wanted to talk about the pre-op appointment. I explained the troubles we had at the appointment and how we were disappointed in the care she received today and that I was not with my husband and we needed to be together to talk about the procedure so he could be informed and ask any questions he had as well. The dentist then told me to find another facility to work with, that he would not have another time to talk. I have never raised my voice, nor has my husband, we have never been aggressive or berating. We simply asked questions about our toddlers care. If the hospitality itself isn't enough to steer you away, the facility rooms are the size of closets, and the dentist spends maybe 3-5 minutes with the patient before leaving the room and doesn't take care to explain anything beyond continually pushing it off to the next appointment, the next appointment, the next appointment. Its an exhausting facility to deal with and it seems like they just want to bleed you dry financially, not actually assist with an issue at hand. Our daughter was less than two weeks out from an oral surgery to help her with the daily pain she's in and now I need to find another dentist to help her. . .

all because we wanted to know what to expect before a surgery. I would not recommend this facility to a dog let alone children and their families. Editing to respond to the Dr. Somefuns response: Being agitated that I am told only a week and a half prior to surgery I need to pay thousands of dollars up front, being told my husband and I cannot ask any medically related questions about our two year olds surgery until the day of surgery, being called and hung up on because I couldn't hear you well, and being told we were no longer welcome to the facility because I stated that my husband and I should be together to discuss care for our daughter and not separated as was tried multiple times does not equate to "combative and rude" as you claim I was. I kept a calm tone in every interaction and asked questions that you and your facility refused to answer. Not once did you try to assist our family but to push us off and push us forward through a process where all you cared about was requesting money from us for a procedure you planned that was entirely different than the one we were told about. If "Be kind" is your motto than you fail miserably at it, just as you do communication and transparency with the clients. Parents deserve to have the peace of mind and basic information on SURGERIES for their children. Its a low level request to care really, should not be problematic or have to be asked for.
